Astronomers Discover a Strange NEW Planet! WHAT'S THERE?

In the search for life beyond our planet, researchers have recently identified a new type of potentially habitable world. "Hycean" planets, which are up to 2.5 times larger than Earth and feature huge oceans of liquid water beneath hydrogen-rich atmospheres are prime candidates for life.

"Hycean planets open a whole new avenue in our search for life elsewhere," lead researcher Nikku Madhusudhan, of the Institute of Astronomy at the University of Cambridge in England, said in a statement.

Welcome to Factnomenal! In today’s video we explore the chances that these wondrous exoplanets are not only abundant, but have life quite different from what we see around us. As we close in on the James Webb Telescope opening its golden eye to the universe, an equally golden opportunity to search for extraterrestrial life is coming with it.

And now we know just where to look.

Another job well done 👏 love ❤ from England.

The fact that we've already found so much life in unexpected, extreme places makes it very likely that life is possible in many more scenarios.

ok, ill say it again.
when viewing though telescope looking back in time is what is seen. even if a planet is found and sensors in telescope lead researchers to believe there is vegetation on planet it will be picture of what it was in the past depending on the distance from thousands of years back to tens or hundreds of millions or billions of years in the past. to think that earth is the only planet in universe that harbors life is a very small minded and ignorant view in my opinion. what needs to be done here on earth is extensive research and development of alternative sources of power and transportation but unfortunately humans dont work as an ant colony and greed and control over others has trapped the human race into self destructive ways. unfortunately it does not seem we as a species will develop as would be needed to establish inter galactic travel as the natural systems of living matter on earth are destroyed and polluted at an ever increasing rate. but hopefully this new Webb telescope will provide us with unique and interesting pictures and data for us to enjoy and research in our lifetime. And if alien beings are encountered what’s not to prevent some govt agency to say the information is national security classified top secret not for the public to see.

WooW.. another interesting video !! As the technology grows day by day, we are finding many new kind of planets and also stars and other celestial bodies. After this discovery, I think, we have to look other types of planets like 'Hycean' in search of life. Thank You 'Factnomenal' for this amazing video..!!

I loved this video and hoping we discover life on other planets!!

I think life and ultimately intelligent life are both relatively widespread throughout the universe.. I just wonder what that means in a Universe as big as the one we are in

Surely there is life out there, and also these planets are only or mostly here on our galaxy. Secondly the moon also plays big part of life here. Hope the JW telescope will give us some answers

Is it just me or does Nikku Madhusudhan have that "Yeah, I just discovered some cool s#%$, I know" look about him. 🤣

..and maybe that’s why extraterrestrial haven’t landed on earth yet. Because inhaling oxygen is fatal for them, while it is a key factor for our own survival

Your reaction to this information very much depends on what you think we should be looking for. If microbial life is your thing, then this is very exciting, if however you think we should be looking for potential new homes to colonise, it's less so.

Interesting. But our best bet to find life is to send probes to stable yellow dwarfs.

You mean that Habitol planet on the thumbnail that looks like it gets hit with an extinction level comet ever 2 sec 😆

As far as we know there could be lifeforms who live in space in a gas cloud

So how are scientists gonna believe in evolution, but not believe it could branch a different way. Been saying this for over 47 years now.

What if K2-18b has earth or Mars sized moons

Couldn't any world that has large amount of liquid potentially be habital. Even if it's not water

How would we know unless we been there

My thought has evolved to believe that enough heat so that liquid can exist (so the ability of movement can occur) could be the prerequisite for life...possibly currently unimaginable forms of life. d>_0b

I think earth should finally leave other worlds alone. All our planet is going to do is exploit the galaxy for its resources and destroy it and move on to another world.
