Russia Ukraine War: Kyiv Targets Russian Oil Infrastructure in Crimea | Vantage with Palki Sharma

As the Russia-Ukraine war escalates, Kyiv continues to intensify its attack on Russian energy infrastructure. In the latest attack, Ukraine claims to have struck a large oil terminal off the coast of the occupied Crimean Peninsula. Russia illegally annexed the peninsula in 2014. The Russian defence ministry said that 12 Ukrainian drones were shot down over the peninsula overnight out of a total of 21 launched by Kyiv. In a statement announcing the attack, Ukraine's general staff said that oil products shipped from the terminal were being used to "meet the needs of the Russian occupation army". By repeatedly targeting Moscow’s energy sector, Kyiv aims to dent Russia’s revenue sources, which fund the ongoing war.

Every time Ukraine strike Russian oil facilities it raises the cost of fuel stock and chemicals for all of Europe, and themselves. What a bad investment of resources. Ukraine cannot strike Russia I’m this way without ultimately harming themselves and their military supporters. This has to be the worst military campaign of defense in the history of war. This should be studied for the rest of history as the poorest strategy ever conducted to bring peace or end a war on term that the defender seeks. It is sad to watch this level of foolishness.
