I'm not shocked like leftists are, but I'm still mad that red flags are being used at all.

I was having a conversation with a very liberal educator who said that she wanted the local school board disbanded and for the state to select the Superintendent who would then set curriculum. Being a constitutional conservative, I had some questions.

While asking said questions, this educator accused me of not trusting our current Superintendent to make the right decisions. Our Superintendent not only had a PhD in Education but was friend of mine. I told her it wasn't a question of my trust in the current superintendent. It was a question of whether or not I could trust her replacement... and all subsequent replacements... after she retires.

I then asked how she would feel if the next Superintendent was selected by a conservative House and the superintendent they selected started banning books and mandated prayer at the start of every school day.

It was like she had never thought of the possibility that conservatives might one day hold a majority in the state house and then use that consolidated power to go right instead of left. Same with red flag laws. Its only a matter of time until consolidated power is used against the very people who called for it.
