Last year I got my Elite status in Exploration, and I discovered and explored all the planets in a far away system. Now I think I'll go back, and build a station.

Hell yes it is. I went back to the bubble recently to try all the new ships and new features. New ships are amazing, I've only fully engineedred Mandalay and Type 8 so far, and they're both amazing ships. PowerPlay 2.0 is still grindy, but only if one wants to farm ranks and merits very quickly - personally I just pledge to a faction and let PowerPlay run in the background while I play the game without even thinking about it, and I get merits for simply playing the game like before. I just have to be careful in which systems I do which activity to get the merits, but that makes sense to me.

The only thing that still bothers me about the game is the RNG factor: I had to wait several hours for single Titan Drive Component to spawn.

I backed the game on Kickstarter, (i also played the original) later i bought the Odyssey expansion an recently the Mandalay.
Now i am building my first space station.
The best game i ever played, and i am a gamer since the 70's (pong, Atari 2600)

Started with Elite in 1984 and all it's successors to elite dangerous on Xbox and a start over on PC .
Loving it. Always open, no authorities. Never fly without a rebuy, which I learned the hard way finding myself in a sidewinder after three ganks in a row. It has lost it's edge a bit after anyone making billions now easily.
It's the open space, exploration, trading, bounty hunting and interactions with others, sometimes friendly, sometimes hostile. And although I lose the majority of my pvp encounters, I don't mind the occasional rebuy, to learn and to get better in combat.

Funny how you fail to mention a single flaw. The super grind, the disgusting performance of on-foot content, the failure of communications from the devs, the broken promises, gaslighting the criticism, dropping console support. The game sure became better in 10 years, but still feels like a wasted potential.

To me, the big mess was when they removed VR support, they couldn't do what hello game did with a much smaller team and budget

I started playing on around 2023-2024. Stopped after around 600 hours and come back recently. It improved with less grinding but it still does not mean to get all things grade 5 in a day. Easiest credit is by exploring for now and module upgrade is now not random has also reduced grinding. Also using prebuilt can reducing rebuy cost and testing gear is not so costly.
