Can a Police Officer Pull Me Over For No Reason?

The police officer usually makes that determination based on number of factors. First thing they going to do is look at your driving pattern. Are you:

• Driving all over the road
• Driving in wrong direction
• Speeding, or tailgating

There will be other reasons, such as a reason to believe you are integral to an investigation they are conducting. Either way, between probable cause and their extensive immunity from the government, the police pretty much have the ability to pull you over for negligible reasons.

In the case of a DUI, they really are looking to see if you have a traffic violation - if you're able to control your vehicle under a normal conditions or you're breaking the law. The next thing that they look at is very simply personal contact. They come over to the vehicle, and they are looking at your eyes, they want to see if they are normal, or blood shot, or glassy.

The best thing to do is have dash cams with audio and preferably one with GPS that records your speed. Far cheaper than a lawyer.

I was pulled over by an officer after he tailed me through 4 left turns and after another mile he pulled me over and said that had a busted left rear brake light. I knew I didn't and then I watched him go behind my car and bust my brake light with his night stick and came back and said now you do. He said if I reported him he would plant drugs in my car and arrest me.

My major two questions regarding traffic stops:
1) is the officer REQUIRED to tell the driver why he was pulled over first, before demanding license, reg. Ins?

2) can the driver withhold license, reg & Ins UNTIL he’s been given the reasonable suspicion of the stop?

This law firm already gives me the feeling that they will not fight for me; if you listen to his words eh is basically saying..."We won't fight because we won't buck the status quo.  Even though your rights may have been illegally and knowingly violated, there's no need to make a stink over one night in jail didn't affect you at all".
This firm may be good for people who are willing to find lawyers who will just appease the system at your expense then tell you to write a "I'm sorry" letter to the cop who just violated you.  NO THANKS.

Thanks for this video! I found the ash-tray I fitted to my motorcycle to be equally as useful.

I left a friend's house and a cop pulled behind me and followed me for 15 mins I pulled off the interstate on my exit legally and he still pulled me over. Granted I have a dash cam recorded everything and he said he did to. I didn't do anything wrong. He said he pulled me over because he ran my license plate and my and my wifes name came up on the registration. He said my license came back revoked that's why he pulled me over eventhough he's never seen me in my life. Is that properable cause?

This is why you have to set up your own "TERMS OF USE NOTICE" to the police to amend the license contract. They operate on the presumption that you are "Volunteering" to act under this license, otherwise the city/state would have to pay you to fallow statutes. I don't know about you, but I don't work for free. If they want to claim that you are "acting in the capacity of a legal person under license", I charge $XXX, XXX. /per year, and these are the hours I will work. / limit XX hours.
If they want to claim you are "working", demand proof of payroll records to prove that you were in fact "on duty" when they pull you over. They cant!  You know, what a
"Duty to perform" without compensation is called??? INDENTURED SERVITUDE!
How many public servants want to claim under their full commercial liability that they work for you, but at the same time you are their slave?

I found out the best thing to do is never drive at night. The police come out like vampires. Drive in the daytime and you'll never get stopped.

I didn't like your intro. I would just as soon not give a mass murder a second chance.

How about a safety check. An officer has the right to pull you over to check your licence, registration, and insurance.
