As far as I’m aware, the pistol shrimp attack’s paralyzing effect doesn’t come specifically from the sound made by the claw snapping, but rather, the force generated by the cavitation colliding with the prey equaling that of a bullet.

The sound probably has a lot to do with it too. I find it extremely unlikely that the loud burst of sound alone would be able to paralyze anything, though.

Hi, I was watching you video. You have a few misconceptions.
1) Mantis Shrimp don't have a sharp projectile, they strike or punch at Sonic speeds.
2) Coconut Crabs have excessively strong claws and do not only cut coconuts down, but dig in and crack them open as well.
