A Few Random Aquatic Plants I Hope You Try (And How I LOVE To Use Them)

for just about any size nano tank!

I absolutely love the first tank, with the Buce. All of your scapes are beautiful, but that one is absolutely stunning. I just got my first Buce, a tissue culture Brownie that I haven't planted yet. Today is the day, I hope. I have used Bolbitis heteroclita (El Nino Fern). I like it - it doesn't start falling apart like Java fern can when it starts developing little baby plants - but it's not especially "ferny-looking, " like the one you have in this vid. I never thought about using corkscrew val, but I might now. Most background plants seem to be stem plants, which I absolutely hate messing with. I love how they look, but it takes patience to get them planted, and patience is not my forte. At. All.

I wish our local Petco had a better selection of plants. They only have a fraction of the things you can get if you order online, and I'm not yet at the point where I feel comfortable ordering a plant I've never seen "in person."

I am having a terrible time with my shrimp tank, it's ten gallons, stocked with neos. Fert tabs in the substrate, use liquid fert as well; every plant I put in there, dies. I don't have that problem in my twenty gallon tank, but it has fish. Even guppy grass died in the shrimp tank. I'll try the bolbitis, maybe it won't die. Same water, light, ferts... one tank is lush, the other is barren. I'll keep trying, something has to work. Thanks for the video.

Great video! I love buce wavy green, and it has done rather well for me. In fact, I just gifted a clipping to a friend. Bolbitis was a bit harder for me. It took a couple of tries before I got it to do well. It's doing fabulous in my 29g. I love the look of corkscrew val. Unfortunately, it hasn't done well for me at all, and I could never figure out why. Perhaps I'll try it again in the 29g or the 20 high.
