You should try a full-on 360 swirl! If it’s not too hard on your wrists, of course! I deal with wrist pain frequently too so whatever you can do to avoid inflammation & irritation.

Oh maybe holding the piping bag straight & rotating the cupcake on those rotating plates? I’m just curious what kind of swirl it would create 😄

I think the twisting method is preferable (in my opinion you do whatever you want lol) because when you twist you decide what direction the fold goes in, while when you pump it up and down gravity just sorta decides what direction it goes it. They look practically the same but the twisting always seems neater to me.

They look similar, but not the same. The second method looks neater, so I prefer that one.

I feel like the difference is quite clear, the second one is neater. But if the first is easier then do whatever you like most. You didn’t need to make a second video and gaslight people who see what I see and say they are the same. There can be opinions outside of your own.

Yes so even though you may do that up and down motion the twitsting motion looks more appealing

The difference is 1. First cupcake, more icing comes out with the up and down method, so the ruffles are bigger so probably the extra weight is causing the ruffles to lean a bit instead of staying upright. 2. Second cupcake, less icing is coming out with the twisting method so the ruffles look more controlled and as the ruffles drop on each, it stays upright instead of that explains clearer.

I love my Russian pipping tips, best purchase I've ever made. I do use the up and down motion because it's easier on my arthritic hands 😆

It might not be as efficient, but the twost method should still work if you pick up the cupcake and turn that in your fingers instead of your wrist

if it hurts ur wrist, rotate t the cupcake instead of ur hand or something. as an artist i had to learn to use my arm and shoulder and move the paper/tablet instead of screwing up my wrists with tiny movements

all the vids i see using this tip (with a nice outcome) stack the frosting pretty high. also twisting definitely creates a cleaner look
