Oh my goodness. She could have completely destroyed her spine when she sat on the floor. I felt that. It literally rested on her spine.b

Guys, listen to the voice of experience:

If the barbell slips through your back, LET GO OF IT. Back in 2017 I didn't and broke my arm really bad. As a result, I now have two plates and thirteen pins on my left arm.

Safety first, don't be ashamed of loosing a lift.

It is actually very important to also teach people how to handle a fail with a light weight so they can be confident with it. People who keep holding the bar at a failed attempt always do it out of fear and it can create permanent damage.

Here's an extra tipp for free: don't do 1 rep max squats if you're not an advanced lifter. Most people benefit more from doing sets of 3-5 reps with a weight they could lift 5-8 times.
Those 1rm sets only make sense if you need to get that last percent from your nervous system after years of training.

Safety tip: if you ever find yourself failing a squat, simply stand back up and rerack the weight.

Every day at the gym all the safeties are back on the floor and I have to wonder if it's the gym staff or other members cause I never see anyone squat deep enough for it to get in their way

You either squat another day or be ready to pay for a hospital stay.

After seeing the video of a bodybuilder break his neck and die from doing barbel squats i've been concerned it might happen to me or my friends, I don't understand why some people dont use safety racks, it could literally save your life!

I will have to remember this tip in that mental state when struggling to even catch my breathe

A loud slam and someone noticing you missed a squat is nowhere near as embarrasing as having your arm snap and break backwards from the elbow or crushing your back and them needing to help. A moment of embarrasment is ALWAYS better than just a risk of long-term damage.

I had to pause to save her from the inevitable destruction. Thank me later.

I preach this with anyone I train… basically get comfortable with being able to fail. As soon as they know they can but the bar down safe if they need to they usually get stronger and depth improves

If you've got an understanding gym and bumper plates, you can practice bar dumping with a manageable weight so you're ready.

The act of dropping the bar is an inelastic collision in reverse… depending on the weight of the load relative to your weight, you may fly forward.

Almost happened to me today. Closest I have been to not finishing the last rep. Sort of a scary/embarrassing feeling. Thanks for the tips in the video. I def need to be more careful in the future.

You should be proud it happened. This means you're actually pushing yourself and testing your limits. Just know how to get out of each lifts failure point. Squat, bench, etc. Or have spotter. Be happy to fail that's how you grow
