Something interesting is that when you use a mutli-bladed razor, while yes, it does cut down to the hair follicle, it also causes friction on the skin, leading to both razor burns, and ingrown hairs. The best solution for that is to use a single-bladed shaving razor.

Lol all jokes a side, before I joined the military I had never shaved a day in my life with a razor. I made the mistake of buying a triple blade razor and as a black man being rushed with drill instructors yelling while we shaved at the sinks my neck ended up looking like this it even turned grey. I got sick too, this was some of the worse physical pain I had ever felt like small shards of glass being shot into neck with every little movement.
