The cost is worth it, if you wanna avoid toxic office environment and the horrid commute.

I see this propaganda against WFH and I'm not buying it. No ways I'm going back to traffic rage and waking up super early.

CNBC not every company provides meals to their employers. We do NOT all work for Google lmao

I have worked for many companies, not a single one paid for my meals. This video was a stretch. There are more cons to working onsite than there are working remotely. Work life balance is so much better not having to commute 1.5/2 hours.

Also this helps essential workers with a better commute! Those who interface with patients, customers, or clients don’t have to worry about the rest of us causing traffic jams!

What's not mentioned is the time wasted to commute is a resource that cannot be restored. If one spends an approx. 2 hours in traffic everyday that's around one whole month lost per year, not to mention the stress it adds up.

the propaganda didn't factor these points below:

- fuel costs are going up dramatically, so commute would not be in the cost factor.
- if you have kids or a dog you save money on daycare, dog walker.
- not eating out as much (sometimes no choice because of work related social activity at your cost). We also didnt mention how its healthier because I was eating out at Pizza spots, pub style food, and other places that give you an unnessary amount of high fructose corn syrup, and calories that your body can handle. thus leads to longer life span, feeling better and less disease. The point this video makes doesnt factor your health and the cases where the employer doesnt pay for the meals.
- most of the best job markets are available at major metropolitan cities that also come with more dramatic cost of living aswell. so again if you can land a fully remote work from home job, you also save by living somewhere cheaper.
- mental health is better because at least 20% of the people I work with drive myself and my coworkers insane, so perhaps the avoidance of harrassment and being gaslit on a constant basis you are not needing to spend the money on mental therapy to learn how to deal with toxic people.

additionally this biased pitch is being delivered by a so called professional that is a credit analyst so I'm not sure what motives she clearly has promoting her buisness, However if this was someone that is to offer a better financial strategy the clearly missed alot of important factors to consider. This video is a joke

Wear and tear on your car from a commute can be a ghost-expense of driving to work. You see the bill for gas every time you are at the pump, but that extra mileage builds up to cause breakages and increased depreciation. 🚙

Commute time to the office should always be a tax write off.

Video in a nutshell:

Cons:
- Possibly spend more money on streaming service b/c you'll have more free time.
-You're at home more so electricity/other utilities bill will be higher
- You won't get the office "free" food.

But honestly, the pros outweighs the cons.

Pros:
You'll SAVE gas & time commuting to work. (No more sitting in traffic for over an hour!) 🚗
-You don't have to make awkward small talk with people you don't like 😊

How many employers provide catered lunch? That is only a small minority of employers.

Biggest thing you save is time, employees rather you waste years of your life stuck in traffic.

Always provided my own meals while in the office, no change in WiFi costs. What I save in transport costs covers the nominal increase in utilities. She wasn't even convinced of the nonsense she was saying lol

The savings are huge! Most people have high speed internet regardless. The ability to save on transportation, car use, food prep, making your own lunches, and not needing as much high cost work clothes since they're not wearing out as quickly.

My wife just accepted a fully remote job working from home. Before the pandemic, she used to have to drive to the office, 95 miles away. That’s 3.5 hours a day and so much stress on her body. Now the company wants everyone back in the office and people are leaving left and right.

For me, less eating out, less Starbucks coffee, less gas. Probably save about $100 a week.

Is this for real? I’ve saved well over $500 each month by working from home since the pandemic started. This includes the slight increase in my utility bill. $500 a month is enough to put $6k in emergency savings, or fully fund my IRA, or go on a nice vacation or two! And this is JUST the financial benefit— the time savings, mental well being, and work life balance benefits of remote work are so profound that it makes me angry that the corporate world has clung so tight to controlling employees. If an employee can be productive, let them work in the environment that is best for them.

I don't pay for gas or lunches out at that alone is a huge savings. Girl, bye.

Save on energy by open your curtains at home. Sunlight is free. Commute time and gas savings are a blessing. Never going back. That time now goes to exercise etc.

Oh well I don't care about hidden costs. I like the flexibility of waking up 20mins to my work schedule and jumping back into bed right after. Cut out the commute time.
