How did Al Capone get his scars?

Unquestionably one of the most notorious criminals in American gangsterdom history, Capone is readily remembered for his bootlegging enterprises during prohibition, suspected role in the St Valentine's Day Massacre, and short stint in the infamous Alcatraz Prison.
However, while many will know the Brooklyn-born gangster by the nickname ‘Scarface’, few know the origins of his facial scars.
The false story spun by Capone was that he received them in valour, lying about serving as a soldier in the Lost Battalion during WW1.
In reality, the famous scars came from his time as a young bouncer working for crime boss Frankie Yale at the Harvard Inn bar on Coney Island.
It was here in 1917 when Frank Galluccio used his knife to slash the young Capone with three cuts for insulting and flirting with his sister.
Left in a pool of blood, Capone was rushed to hospital and required eighty stitches for the scars he’d wear for the rest of his years.

I can't exactly remember who it was, but I think I was told that my great grandfather was given a death threat from Al Capone himself. Although I never knew either of them, I give respect to Al Capone for not erasing my existence, and to my grandfather for not pissing him off too much.

This story was told to me by on old timer in Wisconsin " when i was a kid alcapone used to hide in our village in oakclare Wisconsin, he used to come most Christmas to spend time with his family there. He would gather all the children including me and he would pull out a huge bag filled with dimes and he would grab hands full of them and throw it on to the sky for us to catch. A dime was worth alot back then. Till this day I've never felt the joy I felt in them days. We all knew who he was, even the children. But there were no rats in our village so, he would come and hide everytime it got too hot for him." I used to work with this old man and his story was always consistent and knew so much about the scarface.

Fun fact: Al Capone is from a location very close to where I live and my great-grandmother used to work in a salon where he's from and he actually went in for a manicure and she said he was very kind and tipped well
