I’ve managed creative teams of every size from large to small, in a wide range of business environments, from startups to global corporations, tiny consultancies to global design agencies. In my experience, there are ten key habits that separate successful people from unsuccessful people in life and in business. Ten habits that separate the winners from the losers. If you are driven to succeed in your career, your personal life and in business, pay attention to these habits and diligently incorporate them into your life and your creative practice.

GREAT CONTENT!! :) Success usually comes to those who are too busy to be looking for it. Successful people do what unsuccessful people are not willing to do. Don't wish it were easier; wish you were better. There are no secrets to success. It is the result of preparation, hard work, and learning from failure.

I wish my current employer would make this video compulsary to watch. They have 10, 000 employees who could all be remindered of these steps as part of their personal and professional development. Im saving this as a favourite. Thank you.

I have a feeling this is going to be both incredibly encouraging and a bit convicting at the same time. The one habit I try to abide by vigorously, Philip, is to watch every one of your videos at the earliest opportunity. It's already paid dividends! (Okay, just finished watching, and your first point is absolutely, utterly, no-question-about-it one of the most important things we can focus on in our lives. A grateful, thankful attitude naturally leads to kindness and generosity...and that's a great foundation for life. I strive to cultivate that in myself, and in the lives of my wife and kids. There simply is no greater legacy.)

Half the things you said I already do. I always am planning my next move, I get opportunities but I'd turn them down cuz have nothing to do with what I wanna do. I always view "change" in good way. Great video...!!

One of the best episodes ever. So as a dude from Poland I will quote one of the biggest NFL guys as playoffs are here (I don't even know football rules). Vince Lombardi: Winning is a habit. Loosing is a habit too.

Good sense, good habits, good relationship with people, sharing of knoweldge and ideas without fearing any backlash that may occur, constant effort to improve by using criticsm as an incentive, are all necessary over and above natural talent....being prepared to change and overcoming fear of change are not formidable hurdles but challenges to overcome - and all these things require effort which will prove effective...thank you for your clarity of perspective and encouragement...I have successfully used all these as a means of coping with many changes in my life, and now at almost 76 am for the first time trying to apply them to going into business selling my artwork, done digitally over the past three years (I just started learning computer techniques in 2018). I am happy to discover through your lectures that these same rules apply to what I am now starting to do....and I certainly need much help with the formidable amount of entirely new knowledge needed, especially at this late start! Thank you again for reminding me that the principles you put forward are exactly the same as I have used overcoming other problems in the past - it makes it easier for me to go forward in this entirely new endeavour!

I love that most of these are the intangible elements that are universal human success traits. Thanks as always for the quality content!

1. Mindset: be grateful (for success but also challenges); don't be entitled, but see things as opportunities.
2. Plannjng: set goals and take stock of yourself. Constantly reflect on how you can improve your approach. Don't just wing it.
3. Information: learn continuously and be open-minded to change.
4. Conflict: this is inevitable, and how you react will determine your progress/success. Communicate well and forgive/move on quickly. Don't hold on to grudges and a combative stance.
5. Knowledge: be open and sharing (skills/abilities). Don't hoard information. Let others around you benefit which shows you are caring.
6. Recognition: give compliments and build others up. Take a positive, constructive, solution-oriented attitude.
7. Wins: share/celebrate your victories with others to help them be/feel successful too. Don't take all the credit, but give it out.
8. Change: embrace it. Look at it as an opportunity for growth/improvement. Don't fear/combat it.
9. Communication: use it to create bridges, share ideas and creative energy/innovation/positivity. Not to gain power. Focus it around ideas rather than people. Don't gossip or pin people/groups against each other.
10. Challenges: understand the problems, but deal with them by "living in the solution", not in the problem. It's more creative and innovative.

I think in the terms of success, when successful people win, it’s a win / win for everyone, , when unsuccessful people win it’s a win / lose type of situation in which they engage in self destructive behavior with their winnings

I feel so guilty for many of these especially the last one living in the problem. But for this year ive made a vision board with all the things i want to accomplish. Ill definitely try to change my way of thinking.

I love this! I JUST did a similar video of signs of success I see in my own clients and totally should’ve thought to add that point of entitlement. SO TRUE! It’s all about owning the responsibility for what you want or what happens to/for you (but without falling into the trap of thinking that means doing it all yourself).
