Ppl are overcomplicating this. All you have to do is chose one! They all give similar returns. Keep it simple!

I'm 54 and my wife and I are VERY worried about our future, gas and food prices rising daily. We have had our savings dwindle with the cost of living into the stratosphere, and we are finding it impossible to replace them. We can get by, but can't seem to get ahead. My condolences to anyone retiring in this crisis, 30 years nonstop just for a crooked system to take all you worked for.

My spouse and I are adding a variety of stocks/ETF to my present holdings for the long term, We've set aside $250k to start following inflation-indexed bonds and stocks of companies with solid cash flows, I believe it is a good time to capitalize on the market for long-term gains, but it wouldn't hurt to know means of actualizing short term profit.

I’m a Fidelity investonut 😂 60% of my entire 401k portfolio is in FXAIX. I also split the other 40% in a large growth blue chip fund, a fidelity international fund, a vanguard small cap fund and a vanguard bond fund. 15%, 5%, 10%, 5% in that order. Side note the small cap fund also pays fairly high dividends for reinvestment. Thanks again for the great video Prof. G!

Started my portfolio last year with SCHD, VOO, and VUG after watching one of your videos. In terms of share price, VOO is way up (22.25%) and VUG is up (39.62%). Thanks for the education!

I'm 47, my kids are in college, and I can finally afford to invest. I just opened a Brokerage Account. If I have $80k to invest, how should I begin?

Personally hold Voo, I got a decent position in SCHD already, so I'm dcaing into Voo and QQQM whenever I'm able to. Hope you're doing well!

Hello Prof. G, I’m currently investing in VOO, QQQM, XLK, and SCHD for a target retirement date of 16 yrs. I’m late to the game at age 49 but thankfully I’ve been educating myself on solid ETF’s. I know it’s a little on the riskier side with XLK but the 10yr gains are insane!

Thanks for including SPLG. I chose it for the same reason you mentioned: price. I had my brokerage account with e*trade at the time and they didn’t do partial shares, so VOO wasn’t happening with the small amount of $ I was putting in. I’ve since moved that account to Fidelity (they do partial shares), but have stuck with SPLG as my S&P 500 exposure, especially with SPDR dropping the expense on it to .02%. Both mine and my wife’s 401k offer FXAIX, so I’ve got 40% in it for both accounts. Great episode, Professor G!

The 3 ETFs I hold are SPLG, QQQM, & SCHD. I prefer SPLG over VOO due to the lower expense ratio and lower cost per share. I just like the idea of being able to buy a lot more shares especially since it’s a long term investment.

Can you make a video explaining all the metrics that we should look at - P/E ratio, expense ratio, dividend yield, assets under management etc?

Since the s+p 500 is driven by 7 stocks that might revert to the mean i would put my allocation to the s+p 500 50% in one of those funds, 50 % in SCHD, and rebalance periodically.

Great upload. I got into investing in 2021 and have only been learning since that time. Back then, I entered the market by dumping 30k into SPY. I chose SPY over VOO because it has more assets under management and it's been around longer. I didn't have a lot of trust in the market, and the one with the most history was the better option for me at that time. I wanted to put my money where most other people put their money. It was as simple as that, and if it came with a bit higher cost, I was okay with that, as long as I felt secure. I'm about to dump 30k into SCHD too when the market pulls back again. We appreciate the videos, keep them coming.

I'm keeping it simple by investing in VOO, SCHD, SCHG by using dollar cost $5 day. It's boring and low risk 😊

I SMASHED THAT LIKE BUTTON! Thanks for sharing. Reminds me of how I made my first million, I invested a lump sum in trading stocks with the help of an excellent finance analyst who trades for me.

I put $11k on VOO in my brokerage account and I have FXAIX in my ROTH. I’m 39 now and hoping for the best!!!

I did lots of backtesting and found that a 60/40 of 20% SCHD/DGRO, 20% VGT/QQQ/SCHG 20% VOO and 40% bonds or 4%+ money market matches the growth of SP500 in up years but reduces the losses in down years by 40-60%. If I was under 50 I would hold 90/10 and just add 10% to each of the stock positions and 10% bonds or cash.
