Insightful as always! I agree with you, Simon. More often than not, businesses tend to forget that they exist to solve existing problems in society - not just to make money. Earning money is simply a reward you’re getting from providing society with what they need - it’s not the goal. The real goal is to contribute something fundamental to the society we live in.

He certainly is an optimist. Everyone I know who has created a company did it to earn a living (ie make money) not for altruistic purposes like bettering society. Some of them love their jobs but most don't. They simply identified a need and filled it so they could pay their mortgage and put their kids through private school. Id have liked more elaboration on this video so it made sense in the real world.

I’m a car guy, so of course I love the analogy. 👏 Money is also a result of your just cause and purpose being brought to light and if you are able to clearly articulate it, take action on it and sustain it. That means the car will also have money coming out the tailpipe!

It took me 12 years to understand that purpose is not making money, money is a tool, goals are not money. The moment I realized and understood I start making more money as a result.
