Man i always wanted a Gibson because of slash. I now own one. I’m also a huge Stevie fan. I’ve had a hard time finding that sweet spot to recreate Stevie’s work. I’m close but I really need a fender now!! My answer is Gibson for now, that natural reverb she brings, fingerpicking sounds amazing and the power she gets from the pick ups. Just my style. Shout out to Marty, love your lesson and witnessing your channel improve.

Great video Marty, I did a lot of research prior to buying my first electric guitar, eventually decided on a Les Paul, it was extremely close but the sound of the LP just edged it for me. (although I enjoy playing my acoustic a lot more) but you know sometimes you just gotta let rip.

I've always leaned towards strats or stratish electrics, mainly because I can tweak them so much! Had Pauls, SGs & Vs in the past but always hung onto a strat in the end. Actually, an RG bridges that divide. I'll always have an RG on hand ;)
BTW, Marty won the debate, hands down!

I have a strat STYLE guitar, which looks very much like a Stratocaster. :) Strats seem less heavy and its easier to play the high notes on them. Love the Strat tone as well.

I have a Les Paul so it’s the Les Paul. My first real Hard Rock band was Guns N Roses so hehe, but if I think now, I would also love to have a Jackson V or a Dean Dave Mustaine V guitar 😊💪

Hey Marty!
I own one of each.
I realized the Strat is my “go to” guitar, so I set the action slightly higher on my Les Paul for playing slide, but not so high that it makes normal play awkward.

Les Paul is better - Clapton and SRV actually modified their Strats to make them sound more like LPs - one used an internal EQ/boost the other used heavier strings.
