Gotta say MM, I am really enjoying listening to the podcast in my car. Turns out you’ve got a bunch of episodes I’ve never heard because they’re from a few years back.

Story 1 surprises me. I wonder why anyone would bother to take a Western child from an ex-pat hotel. an action that would most definitely draw attention to them and garner police involvement? They happen to be in the number one country in the world for child sex trafficking and child sex tourism. I know…child sex tourism is actually a thing; if something could make me angry enough to trigger the transformation into my inner Incredible Hulk, it would be the phrase “child sex tourism” and it’s variations. Sadly, even in the 70s…especially in the 70s…due to the crushing poverty in that part of the world, “renting “ or “selling” a child for a few American dollars could make a big difference for the parents and the rest of their children. And police were rarely, if ever, notified, and they rarely, if ever, took notice. Why bother with attracting the ire of the Western world? I suppose if they wanted to cross borders with a child that looked more like themselves (assuming that was the case), but that would be so dangerous. And, again, a local family night even support an “adoption”; terrifyingly, adopting these poor children to Western pedophiles is not unheard of…as horrific as it is.
