Who’s Britain's New Secretive Regiment?

The Ranger Regiment is Britain’s answer to the US’ Green Berets. It consists of four Special Operations Capable Battalions who conduct operations and missions typically carried out by special forces personnel.

The regiment will not only train and advise foreign forces but also fight alongside them in the likes of the Middle east and Africa, seeing far more action and deployment than the likes of the Royal Marines and Pathfinders.

In order to do this they will have around £120 Million invested in the Regiment by next year spent on the newest battlefield equipment and weapons such as the new KS1 rifle, myriad of small reconnaissance drones and autonomous ground vehicles.

Since it’s official creation in December 2021, they have already been deployed over 690 times.

Each of the four battalions has around 250 personnel for a total of just over 1,000. However, the regiment also has 2 Gurkha Reinforcement companies.

The Regiments logo is a peregrine falcon representing their ability to operate in all environments whilst being fast, agile and loyal. Whilst their logo echos this being “By All Means”.

So how do you get into this elite new regiment? Well find out tomorrow for a video just on that!

I'm sure there is reason to create another soec ops program, but why don't they just expand SAS and SBS?

Really excited for our British allies. Always thought it was a problem that there was nothing between Paras/RM and SAS.

But with the SFSG, 18 UKSF, and now the Rangers, they've developed a really solid core of Tier 2 SOF units.

Oh dear, I love this you would think we have the internet! Over on Reddit shouts of copycats are abundant!! 🤭😂😂😂
Americans seem to forget that their colony was British🤦🏻‍♂️
The Rangers draw their name from an elite unit that fought in the British Army in the 18th Century in North America.
Ranger units emerged from North American colonial Scout companies. They first saw action during the French and Indian War (1754-63). This new lot, aren't that new🤗

I don’t understand the purpose of this.. I’m an American in the US Army, I thought the Paras and other British units already these capabilities and mission sets ..I’m just curious, seems redundant. Can one of my British military educate me on this, genuinely curious. 🇬🇧🇺🇸

120 million £. And the you see what the premier league invests in footballers every year. our society needs to refocus more on the fundamental questions of our society and democratic rule of law. Overall a nice feature to have, if you want to be a Toer 1 force but the MOD should be busy to build new brigades, ships and air squadrons. but as i said - money goes anywhere…
