Here in UK. Corden's appeal is that he 'gets it' that its about the guest AND the audience and that he doesn't need to be the 'star'. He ad libs like the best comedians, can act like the best of them, and yet still retain that aura of being a 'fan' of whoever he is interviewing.He does all with a twinkle in his eye approach while delivering the script.
