Quantum Machine Learning LIVE

I'm going to use a quantum processor to help accelerate and extend a machine learning algorithm! Thanks to D-Wave's Leap software, we can access a QPU in the browser. In this live stream, I'll explain how the Leap toolkit works, what a quantum processor offers machine learning engineers, and we'll go through a few relevant examples. Get hype!

Thanks Siraj for the excellent introduction to quantum computing and demo of D-Wave Leap. I encourage everyone who was interested by this livestream to go sign up for free access to the D-Wave quantum computer through Leap service!

D-Wave is great for starting the QC revolution. 2nd generation quantum processors (Google, IBM, etc. Hopefully arriving next year) are better in that they allow full quantum circuit's with 90% error correction and several processing steps before they suffer decoherence.

The 3rd generation quantum ion chips currently in university labs operate at room temperature, full quantum circuit's, up to 10 minutes to decoherence. Error correct rate is currently 99.99% once they get to 99.999% there is no limit to how many computation cycles except for decoherance.

Quantum machine learning article mentioned here was created by Jacob Biamonte et al. Really cool - worth reading.

You are a genius teacher sir, you will go places. Places like mars or the core of the sun (safely)

Please sawce the powerpoints/jupiter notebooks; it's helpful for a full VAKOG-ing a concept in different sensory fields

So ... and please someone corect me ifI have lost it or am simply looking at it wrong:
normal computing:
'''iterates over a generator, create one possible option each time, and adds it to a list'''
myList = []
for item in myGenerator:
myList.append(item)

Quatom list:
'''outputs all possible objects from the generator and outputs them as a list'''
myList =

With this I am correct in saying that all quatom calculations are gready?

Also:
I don't want to think what a nightmare myGenerator in this scenario would be in terms of "thread safety" if it referenced any shared IO.

It is too early for AI to go in this field. We barely have hw AI models now. Also Qprocessing is very diferent that even you don't quite understand or can't transfer the knowledge correctly.

Just to clear it out a bit. It is like searching for gradient decent in dimensions as much as you have qbits. But it doens't do NN type of computation. Instead the output is the overall end state of that bolb of atoms intearcting to each other after the initial state. The energy of the atoms will change to acomodate the solution by a natural process by itself instantly.

DWave doesn't do real QPC but rather a version of it based on superconductors simmilar (not same) effects when current is put through. So even thoug the loop is closed current flows through that 8 ring type of conductor. The current cooses a path in the 8 wire randomly but takes only one path lef or right in the middle of the 8. This is natural for this system even if it looks strange.

That is as much visually passsed to the viewers as I can do with words.

From what I can see, it's not an hour, but a minute. I feel as if I've stepped in a time machine for the future in spite of that.

@ 28:03 can someone define and contextualize the use of the term tomography?

When u r saying atomic state and subatomic state ..my mind was running the " ant man " movie in quantum state

Use case : resource constrained scheduling, which it turns out is an NP hard problem.

..or billions could be saved with traffic control.

Enjoyed it Siraj.... But wanted Some simulation of how it works

the image with the superconductor, current and voltage looks very similar to feynman diagram, just sayin ))
