I applied and interviewed with the manager this week. This job seems to be very, very serious and not joking or playing around like other Googler. Black and white, straight to the point about technical questions, don't give a dam about anything at all.

It's really sad seeing this only few views on this type of topics that can literally change the world

Colder than comprehension would be a great to describe how cold that thing gets

It was us Jores-Tamayo-Ramizos who were the quantum computing pioneers from the 1970s to 80s. (We were Star Trek's Starfleet. It was actually me who was making the Star Trek movies and TV series.) We developed the quantum computing techs of Google, IBM, and Microsoft during these times. I even designed the quantum computers of the Chinese in the 1970s to early 80s. Google people still went to me after mid 1980s in MasbatePH to "theorize, design, and develop" Sycamore. I basically say the Sycamore theory and design is mine from the 1980s, planned for future release to demonstrate quantum supremacy. I practically own the tech giants Apple, Microsoft, Google, Yahoo, Facebook, IBM, Intel, AMD, Nvidia etc. but taken from me. I was the one who orchestrated everything modern computing and tech, essentially outlined the timetable of products and technologies for the various tech companies because I own or co-own them. #PayTamayo

where is the AI in all this? he just walked around and flexed his quantum supremacy

"One of the coldest places in the universe." Man, how are they achieving those low temperature settings? Some type of gas? I can't imagine what kind of energy it would require to cool using electricity. (Btw, it's insane that we have an instrument capable of reading a temperature it has surely never read before. How are you supposed to calibrate a thermometer to read -450°F ?

It's great to look at the equipment, but is there somewhere we can see what it can actually do?

Being how complex & expensive quantum computers are to develop and how far we are off from major broadscale applications, I always thought we would instead pursue light processor.

Since a single beam of light passed through a prism can also be "multiple values at once", using various colors, shades, intensities, or wave lengths, using prisms and filters, a single beam of light could be thousands of values at once.. Then combine that with the frequency of those beams and multiple light beams/sources, I would think this would be a path forward to accomplish a similar objective however while being much closer & realistic to broad scale usage.

I would also think it would be optimal for sentient AI designs, since human thought and emotion is often "in the grey"... Holding multiple thoughts or emotions at once... and each having their own level of intensity...

Im not a hardware or processor engineer, but I would have thought that would have been the quickest path forward for us to significantly increase processing power and to diversify the perspectives of how its processed & interpreted. I realize its not exactly the same as quantum computing, but I would think it would offer similar abilities if developed properly.

A single nano second beam of light (from a single source) passed through prism which splits into color spectrum, with half of that also passed through gradient filters, would produce thousands of values at once. Then integrate thousands of sources, each individually controlled, for dynamic duration, intensity or brightness, I suppose I dont know enough to know why its not being heavily pursued over the vastly more complex & expensive quantum route...

Im also curious with quantum processing, if they could use quantum entanglement to multiply processing power or would it offer some other types of benefits to outcome.

I forgot the video but at some point, the guy was talking about pulling resources from a different 'plane' into our existence. That just sounds crazy beyond belief. That and the ability to be smarter than humans. Which is also really scary.
