As a retail worker, signs are basically invisible to customers

I work the front desk. This happens ALL THE TIME. I almost don’t blame people in my case because we’re the first hotel in a long row of hotels one after another. Still, you have no idea the hidden, inner glee I experience when I look at a Karen’s email confirmation and see the name of one of the other hotels. Absolutely delicious.

After 10 years at the front desk and management I can say you are 100% on the money with your skits! Great job, you might be triggering my post hotel PTSD but I love it.

This is so relatable, hate missing the massive neon signs directly infront of my face saying "this is not that hotel" after thinking it was that hotel 😔

As a librarian, it always seemed to me that people know how to read but choose not to 😂😂

Im surprised she didn't blame you for not telling her she was at the wrong hotel before she started her tirade!

Your unhinged Karen Karens character is such insane perfection!

So true. Had a very similar experience. The woman had her teenager make the appointment. At another Dr across town!!!! Of course after being pissy checked her email and knowing she wouldn’t make that appointment wanted to know if we could just fit her in. No No and No.

Idk how people do it. At Dominos I looked for a lady’s order, couldn’t find it, asked her if she was at the right Domino’s. She said “this is the address they gave me over the phone!” and showed me her phone. Turns out she ordered from Pizza Hut, and they gave her their address, but she drove her ass to Dominos 💀💀 Girl, you did not follow the address they gave you. Quit playin

I once had a reservation for a Holiday Inn on International Drive in Orlando. There are two on the same road within a couple miles. I went to the wrong one. I was cool about it, and the employee was cool with it. Just be nice.

This is so spot on! As a fellow hotel receptionist, its so annoying when the guests have an attitude showing up to the wrong hotel when they are ones who were driving. 😮‍💨🙄

I used to have this happen at the retail pharmacy I worked at. We did both Covid shots and Covid testing so did the pharmacy across the street. We had a list that we printed out every morning with the day’s appointments so we could verify the name and have all the paperwork ready to go when the patient got there to get them in and out as quickly as possible. The patient would get an email confirmation from our location with all the info. the number of times they’d sit and argue with me about the location and time of their appointment, only to pull up the email and have me point out they were at the wrong place 🙈. It was a much higher number of people than you’d think.

Front desk worker for 10 years here. My pet peeve is when there is someone in the parking lot that just made the reservation. They come in all smug insisting the reservation is at the hotel where I am working, on that same day, and made it months ago. Then shove their phone in my face. I am petty and take great pleasure with my Grinch smile when it is the wrong date or wrong hotel and I get to tell them as such and point out I see they just made their reservation 10 minutes ago! 😆😂

Yup. Had this issue multiple times on a ferry. Both the not reading signs, or just not reading things right entirely and being in a different location. Once had a karen have a big argument with me claiming or site said we only pay by card payments (we do not, we only accept cash) I told her multiple times, or site definitely does not say such a thing, only for her to eventually pull up a site of a different ferry in a different city where yes, it did in fact say they only accepted card no cash. Proceeded to tell the lady that was not our site. She said yes it was. I told her look, it says * location * and she was like so what?? Well, this is not * location *... you are at * completely different city *

We also have several signs that say stuff like "cash only" or "no card payment accepted" and literally a while ago had someone say "oh I did see the sign, I just assumed it wasn't for here." ... its a boat. In the middle of the river. There IS NOTHING ELSE HERE.
My dad used the ferry last week and had 2 other bikers waiting and seeing the sign. They literally said "oh. The sign says cash only. Well, it must be an outdated sign, they mustve changed it by now, we can just pay by card!" To which my dad told them its not in fact outdated and their logic was stupid

Same exact energy as the people demanding you help serve them when you don't work for that store...

If the guest was respectful about the confusion, I would’ve gone above and beyond and even printed them directions to their correct hotel or maybe even offered her a decent rate at our hotel instead (if we had occupancy and mgmt approved), but this is exactly how I handled Karens when I was a GSA/night auditor. People like her won’t be happy any way you go about it, unfortunately.

I work as a cashier. Signs are merely part of the background. Thankfully 99.99% of the customers understand when they make a mistake and are super chill.

This literally reminds me of an interaction with a customer saying we forgot an item in her order that we don't even sell. She went to the wrong store to fix an order
