Ghosting - Why Men Pursue If They'll Just Disappear

Have you ever said, "I thought we had something and he disappeared?"

When a man acts interested and then goes cold turkey must be very frustrating, am I right?
There's nothing more painful to invest your heart into someone and then out of the blue they disappear... this term is now called: Ghosting.

It's funny to me because, in the past, women kinda did this when they gave a man a wrong phone number or blow a man off after a few dates and we consider this normal.

But it's different now because if we have sex with someone, we kinda expect a relationship to form.
In today's video, we are going to explore why a man might pursue a woman if he's just going to ghost anyway.

Let's talk about... Ghosting - Why Men Pursue If They'll Just Disappear

The hardest is when he's engaged, the feelings are real and then apparently TOO intense so they leave to meet other women while you can feel his heart is still with you, so he pulls back harder and just cuts out communication altogether and treats you like you were a random girl they met once eons ago.

Jonathan, with respect to people who ghost, it is, as you noted, “chicken shit”. I agree with you that it is up to us (the “ghostee”) to arrive at a place of forgiveness, to experience that moment of clarity that allows us to move on, keeping the focus on ourselves. I appreciate your thoughts on the ghosters: specifically how disrespectful and UNKIND this behavior is. It is indeed a reflection of them, not us. It recently happened to me. Stings like hell initially, but the sense of self (self love) takes over and voila! .... peace and equilibrium!

Ghosting after meeting someone for the first time is normal in the online dating world, but the guys who ghost after several dates and after that bond has been created are terrible people. What’s more confusing is it’s not an age thing, these are older, established, well bred men who should know better. How do we explain that?

The only time I’ve ghosted was in response to someone who ghosted me. Popping back up in my life like a zombie, I don’t owe you anything, I’m out. Ghosts belong in the graveyard. Once a man ghosts, ghost back and move on 👻

This guy 14 years younger seemed interested for a few weeks but recently said he MIGHT want to have kids...and I'm too old for that, biologically. I wanted to tell him if you're not sure, then you should not have them. But I just told him to lose my number and I blocked him. So many people do not know WHAT the hell they want.

IDK. It could be indecisiveness, shyness, low self-esteem, laziness, health problems, avoidant-attachment, maybe feeling he'll say something he'll regret, maybe he prefers person to person only, maybe fear of miscommunication, maybe it's someone else, maybe they feel embarrassed by something they did or said to the woman or failed to do. Maybe it's a cousin complex (made this up just now.)

Ghosting is a immature and emotionally destructive act and when a man does this he should know that there is no area of forgiveness...I would love to put my foot in my ex's behind...he wasted 3 years of my time and this was a long distance relationship...

Someone told me not so long ago that my avoidant is either a Zeta or a Delta. Maybe that's what an avoidant is in that classification.

Well. This is the first explanation I honestly 100% agree with and just as I always thought---
He thought he liked you but he changed his mind.
Yep.

I was ghosted for someone I personally have known for around 10 years. i thought they were my friend. They were talking about eventually sharing a house and maybe working at his actual workplace and then they suddenly ghosted me after I wished them a good day off. I mean, who does something like that?!!

I will definitely purchase your book . Thank you so much for coaching . I honestly need you in my life . I don’t want to make mistakes . I am a high valued woman with high standards and I scare the men . I think this is the problem and I am European from the same country of your parents . Have a great Sunday . Gabriela 😘

Thank you for sharing your knowledge because this just happened to me and he was telling me how very much he was into me. I was not into the ghosting/game thing. Thank you for your explanation

Why would he ghost .. apologize later for being rude, and try to make amends by offering to do helpful things - then still flake on dates and then ghost again?? At mid age smh
