For people that don't know flies have an extremely hard time seeing very slow things.

In northern Australia, a farmer made a hothouse out of plastic sheeting, with an entrance on each end. One was open and the other had slitted plastic on it. The cattle soon learned that if they went in the open entrance and out the slitted one, the flys were brushed off. The flys flew up to the top and died because of the heat. Worked really well, and highly transportable.
