The term to look for is CCA - Cold Cranking Amps
A higher value here will deliver more power should your car fail to start right away. Especially helpful in winter months in cold northern climates.

BATTERY AND A REBUILT ALTERNATOR, YA IT MIGHT BE OVERKILL BUT I TOTALLY REFUSE TO HAVE PROBLEMS IN THE WINTER TIME, CUT AND DRY.

It doesn't make much difference if you live in warmer climates, but if you live in Northern areas that have below zero temperatures, also check the cold cranking amps (CCA at zero degrees).

I learned to spend the few extra bucks, probably $50 nowadays, to get the better cold cranking amps rated one.

I always buy top of the line batteries that helps a lot when starting up a car even in cold weather conditions. Top of the line ones do have the CCA you need and lasts a long time.

There's also some other factors of buying a battery. The newer the cars get and some of these cars also have the start stop feature require a agm battery. And also pay attention to get the correct battery for your car, some cars take a reverse terminal.

The problem is they are putting more electrical components than ever in cars lights, video, sensors etc which use a lot of energy constantly and wear batteries and alternators out faster

Ive had 2 napa brand batteries. Both are about 15 years old at laast. Both still going great. I even use one of them for my electric trolling motor on my small boat. Not meant to be used how i do but they never die. I dont know what is so differant about them but great batteries.

More amps the battery has, more time it takes to charge. So, if you have short trips and many starts, you will never have a fully charged battery, if it has too many amps. You do need more power when starting diesels, not so much for petrol.

Agree with the higher CCA, but from what I heard, some of the newer cars require programming of the ECU to recognize the higher capacity battery.

I buy the closest largest batteries for my car as I have a decent sized stereo on stock electrical. So I need that extra power output
