This guy is the tool himself. Never had to work on a job site once in his life

That’s a dumb thing to say. 5s are not obsolete. I have 4 6s and 3 5s and my 5s are my go to everyday batteries. The 6 is huge and heavy compared to the 5 and for most applications the 5 is way more than enough power and runtime. It’s a pain lugging around those 6s most of the time. I do however love the 3 HO. My 2s almost never get used anymore. Besides I’ve never “invested” in a battery. Why would anyone buy most battery outright? Only battery out of 16 I’ve bought was my 2 3s. They come with tools and it’s a no brainer to get a tool and battery for a few bucks more than a battery alone.

Why?! The 5Ah strike a great balance between capacity and size! You can send your 5Ah this way if you have any problems with them. The newer high-output and high-capacity batteries are getting too cumbersome with their size.

If those xc 5.0s go on sale I'd buy them

There’s nothing wrong with the non hi output .

I disagree. I own 17 - 5.0 batts and 4 - 6.0 batts. The 5.0 are perfect for impacts, drills, jig saw, and tools that are not Batt Hungry I use the 6.0 in saws, blowers and SDS drills. Dollar per watt hour the 5.0 wins out

You should’ve just said “get whatever new Milwaukee is out”

I like the 5’s because they take up less room on the bottom heel of the tool for tight spots and the tool is more balanced with a 5. Love the 5’s

6 or 8 high output are for the more demanding tools. Not really ideal for a impact driver or a drill because they are much bigger.

I bought a 5 tool kit all M18 fuel with a 3.0 high output and a 8.0 high output plus a free 5.0 battery all for $600 from home Depot. I returned the 5.0 even though it was "free" and got $145. So basically got a killer all fuel tool kit for $455 ( impact, hammer drill, multi tool, and hackzall plus dinky flash light) plus 2 high output batteries. As I was returning the battery, I saw my home Depot had a 3/8" M12 fuel stubby impact with 5.0 high output and charger/bag on clearance for $160. All in all it was a great day!

What are you recommend for a better made cordless power tool well best made cordless tool Dewalt. What do you recommend battery packs?

I agree with everyone else who commented. Price is still an object for most people. The old 5ah are fine for most small tools and they are regularly given away on discount The weight on the new 6.0 shouldn't be ignored.

5.0 is fine for me. Got a drill mid torque and high torque never really needed more

Idk, I just buy whatever tool homedepot has on sale that comes with 2 batteries and a charger. Typically comes with 5.0’s. Did pick up the 3.0 high output. Really dig them

The 5.0 are my favorite for impact drivers. They are shorter and allow the nose of the impact to set roof screws. The high output make contact with the roof first and make the job a bit more cumbersome.
People tell me to just use a bit extension which I have, this not only adds more "slop" to the screw be9ng driven, but also absorbs some of the delivering torque.
I slow charge my entire m18 battery arsenal at home and bring about 12 fully charged batteries to the jobsite.
Slow charge equals less heat, adds years to my batteries life.
I've got about 6 old slow chargers all in a row in my shop and let them take as long as they want to charge

Is it worth replacing the batteries inside the pouch?

You don’t have to repeat it so many times, make it so annoying

If you need some guy with safety glasses on so he doesn’t poke himself in the eye with his NY pointer finger to tell you this…..

I’d disagree you should have a mix of both Xc and h.o. in the mechanical field there are many tight spaces the HO batts are slightly taller and wider not to mention heavier than xc you can’t get your tool where it needs to be at times with a H.O.
