Best battery charging hack for dead batteries!!!!

Charging a dead battery is easy. Connect them in parallel then connect the charger to the know good battery. The charger will most likely take several hours before it completes charging.

You should only do this for a few minuets, just long enough for the dead battery to get enough voltage for the charger to recognize, the unhook the good battery.

Be careful. I did this to charge a car battery. Once charging, i removed the good battery. The old battery got too hot to touch. Something was wrong with it internally.

You can get a battery maintainer. It throws about 2 amps or so to slowly charge. There are a few bigger maintainers that charge at a higher amp rate but they're not too bad to have. It takes a bit though to charge

If they are in parallel and your cables are ok it doesnt matter which battery is attached to the charger. But it is easier for removing the good battery after a few min.
You could also just use a classic charger

I hate the "smart" chargers. You shouldn't have to do that. I figured this out years ago. I've been through two of these new chargers and back to the old faithfuls.

I tried smth like this last year when one of my solar batteries became somewhat overcharged and couldn’t retain charges any longer, tho not exactly how you just directed. i had my batteries hooked up in parallel and the charge controller terminals connected to the red and black of both batteries and not to just the no-good battery. beautiful enough this revived the weak battery’s life bc i noticed massive improvement in run time. Never hook a high volt solar panel directly to your batteries.

Just be careful. Depending on the amp rating of the battery it might arc and melt the terminals if you hesitate. Other than that fact yes this is accurate. Even works for lithium batteries.

At least some smart chargers have a forsed mode marked with a wrench,
("powersupply") after some minutes in "wrench mode" you can charge "smart" again.😉👍

Or don't use an 'automatic' charger. A basic old fashioned charger will start charging. I keep both .

FYI Charge dead AA batteries by placing them in boiling water for 1 minute then place them in ice cold water for 2 minutes, Done!!! It works I tried it tonight!!!

Smart, but old school . From dead AC converted to DC only works if the battery still has voltage. DC requires real DC to jump start the convention .
Once started, remove the other battery and it will most of the time come back. Depending on the sale quality.

GENTLY tap around with a rubber mallet. Rock the battery back and forth on grass like a baby garden gnome. Roll it down a gentle Grass Hill. This is for regular lead acid only. Break up those sulfate crystals with physical agitation. That's what prevents charging.
This example they are sealed so it's not as effective. Different build.
Don't add water. Maybe add water. But check acid first

After both batteries are connected in parallel.. connect the chargers positive lead to the good battery's positive termimal and the negative to the discharged negative terminal

I usually use a analog charger that's always putting out power where it doesn't have to have a power signal to kick on.. sometimes I have taken batteries that won't take a charge and connect them up backwards for about 30 to 45 seconds on 200 amp boost sometimes that gets them working... But be cautious doing that it could That's a last resort I usually use like 10 amps

Connect them in series so you get double the voltage. It’s like carb loading for your car.
