How to remove Water Ridge kitchen faucet (see description for more details)
Показать описание
The faucet is a Water Ridge kitchen faucet that the previous home owners had purchased from Costco. Unfortunately they did not keep the installation manual so I could not see how it was installed to remove it.
We needed to replace this faucet when we bought the house several years ago. It didn't work correctly and was difficult to swivel.
We had 2 different plumbers look at removing this faucet but they both said they could not. They had never seen this type of faucet. It is not known if they just didn't want to do the job or if they genuinely did not know how. So we lived with it until it finally seized up completely.
I finally found out that there was a set screw down on the side (as shown in the video) and that changed everything.
Remove the set screw using 2.5 mm hex key. Once the set screw is removed jiggle, wiggle, and pull on the faucet until it releases (ours was really seized because of the sediment and corrosion).
Then I unscrewed the TWO hex screws that were revealed until I heard the parts holding the faucet base to the sink fall inside the cabinet beneath. I used a 4 mm hex key to do that.
After disconnecting the hoses from the water supply and the main hose connection the faucet came right out.
I wish I would have figured this out years ago.
