Lived in Fort Wayne for 63 years. It is very easy to be anywhere in the city within a hour. We have everything we need and it is a bargain to live here. As long as someone is not involved in drugs, prostitution, gambling or drugs there is about zero chance of being killed. We have 4 very strong seasons here and winter is nice time to relax. In my humble opinion the people here are friendly and funny. Great place to raise a family.

Fort Wayne’s population is consistently growing. If people like you are the ones who are leaving, you’re making our city a better place.

This might be a shocker but cost of living is skyrocketing everywhere not just Fort Wayne

I live in the Nashville area. Try driving around here at any time during the day.

Also I'm a recent retiree. What activities for retirees, lifestyle, et cetera are available in Ft. Wayne? I am a homeowner in the Nashville area and I've for whatever reason have always had thoughts of moving there. Is it true in your opinion that Ft. Wayne is one of the cheapest places to live? I think that U.S. News rated the area as the cheapest place to live in 2024-2025. I plan to sell here, buy there so any information would be great.

lol I feel like everything you said is a positive. We live here in California currently and have family who have moved to or near Fort Wayne and love it. We’re considering it. Tired of Californias garbage. Want to go somewhere we can enjoy a small town community and life.

We are considering the Leo-Cedarville area but as people of color we do have our concerns. Currently, we are just west of Chicago and want a slower pace. Our plan is to retire within the next two to three years and we will continue to consider the FW area. Though the cost of living has gone up it is still significantly lower than the Chicago area, so we shall see what happens.

As a builder and real estate investor living here for 14 years. Every week people contact me about building a barndominium, and every conversation begins with, “if you don’t own land, do not buy it in Allen County, move to a different county if you can”. The dirty secret is every building contractor charges customers more money to do the job in this county due to planning and zoning and the building department.

I'm just gonna say this...
I've lived in multiple states all over. And these past 4 years in Fort Wayne have been the worst. Food sucks, people suck, roads suck and every single person who's from here doesn't see that. In fact, they're baffled that I feel this way. I've given it a chance. More than a chance. And maybe this happens because the natives don't want people moving here. Who knows. But I'll proudly leave this toilet soon.
Sorry about your haircut but you're not getting actual talented barbers here.. everything here is the Fort Wayne version.

I was born in Ft Wayne in 1955 and left in 1966. OMG, it was the most boring place I ever lived in.

This really feels like you found a generic list of why people move and tried to apply it to Fort Wayne. Most of these were a stretch... Also, the quality of these videos could go up if you used local photos.

And not forget the crappy roads that ruin our cars and all the people that drive like fools 😂😂😅

Lived in the area all my life an HATE it, tried moving out of the state but didn't work out.
My biggest complaint, the stupid ass bike lanes on the roads, if a bike scratches ya car who pays for it the city as they put the bike lanes on the roadway?
If I could get the hell out of here I would!~ Hypocrite henry ruined it during his rule!~

Today`s video doesn`t upset me. Actually it made me take you out of the used car salesman category. I thought you were being too positive about the Fort just like someone trying to sale something. I appreciate your wife Stacia who declared that you left Fort Wayne for Leo ..lol.

I agree. I moved here on SW side 19 yrs ago and it was very quiet. Now the traffic on 24/Jefferson Blvd is so much worse.

Homestead HS is no longer #1 after we were guinea pigs for eLearning.

And OMG we are the new Gary Indiana in terms of murder and crime.

The cost of living has gone up everywhere though, Including us. Customer service sucks not just with hair but many things, but again, that's true everywhere.

Now I will say the constant transients have made the people less friendly, which sparked my emotional intelligence podcast @Aim For The Middle EQ

As a marketing professional I absolutely love this angle.... Tell them all the reasons they'll hate it but then offer to be their home agent 😂. Drama works!!

I love YouTube because of the variety. But this is one of those videos that is not only incorrect but a video that was made for the sake of making a video. Proven by #10 🙄
The cost of living has gone up everywhere and it's still cheaper to live here.
I have no idea what you are talking about in terms of traffic. You've apparently never been to Columbus Ohio. It's pretty much the same here as it has always been. In the summer it can be a little worse because of construction and it can be for downtown because of all the events and festivals as well as the farmers market.
Which leads me to my next point, there's plenty to do here. And integrating shouldn't be a problem.
FTW is the second largest city in the state so if you moved here for a quiet simple life and didn't get that that's on you. You can move a lil further out or to a smaller town just outside the city. No one moves to a city for a quiet life.
All public schools suck but we all know it's up to the student and parent. I know plenty of people who have gone on to college after graduation. Not to mention all of the training available for trades.
The crime. Yeah where isn't there crime. Oh wait MOST of FTW. Seriously it's all in one part of town. If you don't go to that part of town you won't encounter crime. It's the ghetto. If you have the money to relocate your not going to relocate to the poorest part of a city with drugs and run down houses. These two are in their office downtown. I live 10 minutes north of this office and two more lights north of me there aren't even cops because nothing happens out here.
Jobs, I'm told by the 20 something's that there are a lot of tech jobs here. We have 2 Amazon facilities that have provided a ton of jobs. There's also a huge data center project in the works. This used to be an industrial city and then pretty much all of them closed and since then we've been making the switch to tech and pulling in larger companies to our area. This video is dumb. I've never met a person who moved here and regretted it or regretted it so much they left.
