Should you run your pump 24/7? It really depends on your specific setup. But if you can, I highly suggest you do.

Thanks for sharing. I don’t run our pump 24 x 7 but definitely have a second inlet in case the skimmer gets plugged. I have the Intex Prism 18x48. I also have the Intex Krystal Clear 2150 GPH Sand Filter Pump & Saltwater System with E.C.O. We put in a Hayward skimmer, plugged one of the 1.25” holes with a black top hat then screwed the inlet cover back on and are using the other 1.25” hole as the second inlet. I used a Intex Soft Side Pool Adapter Kit - 40mm Short Connection Kit and 1.5” hose below the skimmer. Then connected the 1.5” hose to a Intex Above Ground Plunger Valve. Then used a INTEX 1.25" to 1.5" Type B Hose Adapter to connect to the 1.25” hose going to the second inlet. Skimmer was a great addition.

What brand pool? How did you install the skimmer in a temporary pool

I didn't know the Hayward sand filter pump had speeds. I have the 18inch Hayward 1.5 matrix motor... I almost made that mistake with running only one suction instead of I just changed my set up to 1 running with the skimmer, and other running normal.. I had the reduction piece on there, but I noticed the water flow into my pump wasn't strong. I have the 24x52 Ultra frame Intex pool.

The pump sounds super loud. Like there is something wrong with it. Or is that just how that hayward pump is?
