I used to know a master mechanic dad who kept his vehicle taken care of so well he had over 800, 000 miles on it. He loved her so much she out lived him.
That’s stayed with me ever since, he was an amazing person

I've changed my oil every 3000 miles since I bought my K1500 Z71 with a 5.7 new in 1994. Not even a puff of smoke on startup and other than 5 starters and a water pump, i haven't done a single repair to the engine in just under 400, 000 miles.

And replace the belt tensioner when you change the belt. The spring wears out over time, and improper tension causes bigger problems.

Also beware of oil changing places. They can put the wrong grade oil or forget to put oil in all together. I have my own ramps to change the oil. Quick way.

I’ve got an ‘07 Camry with 311, 000 and I’ve personally drive it about 71, 000 miles. Other than some exterior damage, my car runs well. I plan on driving it for a very long time.

I have had several cars, Americans and Foreign, last over 250k miles.
The highest was a 1992 mercury Cougar with 350k miles.
My secret besides maintenance is drive it like a dozen of eggs are on the roof.
Too many people pound the accelerator and break hard.
This all puts strain on the drivetrain and shorten its life.

Still doing the old every 3, 000 with my cars, that I learned 50 years ago. Engines stay happy that way.
