Code Geass is my all time favorite amine the intricate plot and wild action sequences with compelling characters it was everything I ever wanted and was so fulfilling to watch. That mind blowing emotional twist at the end had me in tears mouth agape. Code Geass is the gold standard

YEAH code geass all the way! i mean theres a reason why they are often compared: both are cntered around MC who are super smart and both do objectively evil things for the good of mankind... except one stays true to their goals and ambitions while one gets swallowed up by his own pride

both of them were probably among my first 5 ish animes that i ever watched, the first being elfenlied which... i mean ...yeah? that certainly was an introduction to anime. however codegeass was the anime i watched with my best school friend and it was his first anime, i had binged the first season of codegeass in 2 days over the weekend, so on monday im late for school and in the subway to school i see my best friend who is obviously also late, so i sit next to him and we decided to skip school, which had been a long lived tradition at this point which involved us going to subway to have breakfast and then going to school late however today we decided to skip school entirely though we didnt really have anything to do and then i remembered the greatness that is codegeass so we grab our sub's go to his place and binged both seasons which has since become an anual tradition: once a year we grab subway and binge codegeass seasons 1-2 though we have started to add pizza in the evening because subway just isnt enough, which reminds me.... its been a while

Idk if he has a higher IQ than light but code Geass was just a better anime all together. I can't think of any other character that conquered the world through force in order to create world peace AND THEN ACTUALLY DOES IT.

I love death note it's the reason I got into Anime. But CG is the illmatic of Anime, it has super abilities, psychological battles, mechs, world building, character building, basically you could revive the genre with this one show.
