I have the 2022 Tuscon hybrid. Its everything I wanted in a suv. Good mpg (30 mpg around bay area), absolutely great automated driveing, mechanical AWD, excellent sound system, heated and cooled seats, execllent pickup.

I have a new 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid limited trim, and it spanks the Toyotas on Everything. The fit / finish, interior styling, ride, driving satisfaction, oh... and a 10 year 100K warranty. I'm averaging 33 MPG right now in winter, but when I first got it it was warmer and I was getting 36 MPG between fill ups. The tank is large enough to give a range of around 530 miles.
For a "mid size" Suv, it's large and roomy on the inside, with Comfort features and the looks of a far more expensive SUV.
The Highlanders weerd dash configuration really put me off on it. I am So Glad I got the Hyundai !

In our area, a plug in hybrid of any brand is very difficult to find. After searching all over the region, I finally located a Kia Niro PHEV. Not exactly what I wanted, but I have frankly enjoyed driving locally without using any gas.

Hyunday Tucson Hybrid Plugin does not run faster than regular Hybrid. Yes, it has combined power 261HP vs. 227HP, but the weight is also bigger because of the larger battery. As a result you have the same torque for both models either it is Hybrid or Hybrid Plugin.

It's funny that Rav4 hybrid and Venza have identical engine, yet one is #1 and the other is #8.

That venza looks to stick with Toyota or honda for reliability. After having a Toyota and counting on incredible reliability it is hard to not go with Toyota, but I think I'd consider that honda as well.

While Hyundai. Kia release new hybrid models to compete with Japanese brands, they are bringing out very good electric cars like Ev6, Ioniq 5 along with Niro, Kona to go a head in EV era.

My 2021 Toyota Highlander Hybrid only gets about 436 miles per tank. Technically, it should get over 600 miles, but something is wrong with all the gas tanks and it only fills up to 14 gallons instead of 17. In real driving in the San Francisco Bay Area, you'd be looking at around 30.8 miles per gallon average. If you take Hwy 5 to SoCal, you'll be looking at about 26-28 mpg. Get it if you're looking for a comfortable car that doesn't move fast when entering a freeway starting at 0 mph. It's not too bad though, but you'll really be eating at your gas if you floor it. Until they fix the gas tank issue or at least admit that there is an issue, I'd skip the Highlander Hybrid.
