Free Will in 100 seconds

I'll attempt to condense free will in 100 seconds, along with centuries of philosophical inquiry. Is our free will an illusion, or do we truly possess the power to shape our own destinies? From the intricacies of quantum mechanics to the neurobiological underpinnings of choice, we'll grapple with the age-old question: Do we have free will? In this whirlwind tour of philosophical thought, we'll explore the ancient debates of determinism and compatibilism, and go into modern perspectives from figures like Sartre, Skinner, and Daniel Dennett.

Who am I?
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
I have a lot of dumb ideas. I tend to write them down and then revisit them from time to time. Sometimes, the world and/or my own understanding of it has moved enough to where it can now be taken to a new place. If you’d like to talk, I’d love to hear from you.

Enjoy!

Just because you can't sprout wings and fly away doesn't mean you're somehow compelled to rob a liquor store. We are limited in our latitude of actions, but we still face the consequences of what we decide to do.

I sigh any and every time a video posts about the Ben Libet experiments ( 0:29 ) that had only looked at the first few results without seeing later experiments performed that later would lean in the direction that we do in fact have free will. To quote Benjamin Libets himself: "My conclusion about free will, one genuinely free in the non-determined sense, is
then that its existence is at least as good, if not a better, scientific option than is its
denial by determinist theory. Given the speculative nature of both determinist and
non-determinist theories, why not adopt the view that we do have free will (until some
real contradictory evidence may appear, if it ever does)." - from his 'Journal of Consciousness Studies'

Its the same I see with people quoting the Miller–Urey experiment to prove how life started without doing the later research that it is VERY incomplete and had a lot of issues in itself.
