How To Turn Regular Pump Gas Into Higher Octane Race Fuel

Engine Power has used Race Gas fuel concentrate in their builds for years because it works! Race Gas is a fuel concentrate that can be added to pump gas to raise the octane a full 4 points per 2 ounces of mix. That means you can take 93 octane pump gas and mix it up to 105, replacing the need for distilled race fuel.

There's a mixing table on the back that lets you tailor your octane what you want and need. And the nice thing is you can mix it anywhere there's a gas pump and it's catalytic converter sage.

For demonstration, Pat adds 3 ounces per gallon to 87 octane pump gas which will bring it up to 93 octane. After pouring Race Gas in simply shake the container to make sure it mixes completely.

I remember when I began driving back in the 80s there was a gas station with purple air craft fuel, looking back it was nice getting 113 octane for $3.50 a gallon.

What's your sponsorship arrangement with Race Gas? Nice infomercial you made for them.

I love the smell of fresh high octane gas in the morning.

The dyno pull was to show that their high compression engine made to run on 93 octane could run on the 87 with the additive. If the additive didn't work it would have most likely made less power and wrecked the engine by pre detonation.

What does the arbitrary Dyno pulls have to do with the octane booster? Was never explained.

Did I mess where they ran with just pump gas first ? Wish I had this back in the 70, s when I had my 66 GTO that dynoed out at 440 HP on the ground with premium pump gas

3:15 when you get three min and 15 secs into dyno tune and chill and he gives you this look 🤣🤣🤣

I want to see the same set up with 87, 104, and pump 93. Also knock detection. Keep bumping up timing until you get detonation. See what fuel out performs.

Every time I see one of your videos I can't help but think of Tom Green 😂🤣

It would be nice seeing air fuel ratios ..rich /lean adjustments do it the right way ..

Great video but unfortunately it does not prove much. How does the fuel mix compare to regular 93 and also does it foul up the plugs like most octane boosters do?

Wouldn’t it be cheaper just to buy straight 93 octane

Finally able to get that 14/1 compression boi

l use this race gas in my Riding lawn mower and l finish cutting in half the time. Thank you Race Gas.

Higher octane, by itself does NOT equate to increased power. It does, however, ALLOW for increased compression ratios and/or advanced ignition timing. It also allows for hotter exhaust valves before pre-ignition occurs.
These aspects of engine design DO equate in greater power.
Too many people are under the impression that "higher octane" equates to Specific Energy Content, i.e. How many btu of energy per a specific amount of fuel.
Quite often the two go hand in hand such as gasoline and diesel fuel. Diesel has both greater specific energy content as well as a greater ability to resist pre-ignition.
Once again, these may go hand in hand, but are actually two separate functions entirely.

Did I hear that right? "The only thing different is the headers." And THAT'S what makes the difference.

2 stroke oil can raise performance of gas in a four stroke engine. Can also add mileage. compression.

I've seen this stuff at summit and it's not so cheap this is why I use VP OCTANIUM ! it increases octane up to 8 numbers on 10 gallons of 76 100 octane so 108 !

I have a 388 Stroker 12 to 1 compression. Solid cam 533/555. World heads 750 Holley carburetor. Hooker Headers. With a turbo 400 transmission with a 3000 stall can I run it on pump gas. I normally run 113 to 116 race fuel

What ur failing to mention is will need like $40 worth to get to 105 lmao how misleading. "Just add a can of Race Fuel and u can have race gas". Ummmm yea NOT!
