Getting wordlessly and ambiguously abandoned like Aubrey did hurts like hell because you often times don’t get an answer to what you did wrong. So, you’re left wondering all the different ways in which you could’ve lacked that would’ve made somebody leave you. She was young and as she said she didn’t realize that people took time alone because they were coping and grieving. Aubrey’s coping mechanism was to maintain normalcy and to continue to have a support system of people around her because by god her family wasn’t there for her. The ending of this piece is acceptance, I think the moment when her walls come crashing down during that one scene where they’re all standing at the stump of the tree in Sunny’s backyard is one of the most melancholic yet triumphant parts in the entire game. It’s the part where Aubrey finally gets to step back and say, “they weren’t trying to leave me” and breathe the biggest sigh of relief. Beautiful composition, I really like this version

I believe this version perfectly portrays the intensity of the situation. It gives off the same hopeless feeling you get at this point in the game when you're playing for the first time. You're fighting someone who used to be your friend because she was misunderstood, and that emotion is well captured here, as if it actually does mean everything. Very good job on this one.

This version feels like it’s from Aubrey’s perspective rather than Sunny’s
In the original, we are looking through Sunny’s POV, with the battle system and the music also reflects that. It feels dissonant and garbled, as if he can understand but not fully grasp the situation.
Aubrey feels an entire myriad of emotions however, and it’s all bubbling through in the fight. The music here reflects that, how much it has impacted her and how important it truly is. In a way, while the original makes us sympathise, it doesn’t quite capture the essence quite like this

Edit: listening to the ending, it’s a violin, and a piano follows. It’s kind of like the situation has finally reached Aubrey, and while everything else feels like a jumbled mess, the ending is clear. The vibrato on the violin sounds like the same sad one in ‘Remembrance’ where you can almost feel that Sunny is shaking with remorse, and the piano comes in to tie it all together. In a fucked up and weird way, Mari brought them back together again in the end

Keeps the solemn vibe it has going for the original, but with a more powerful taste to it. A really good version of Aubrey's theme.

The title of the song really hits hard when you think about Aubrey’s life. The group was her everything because they were her only family

Been listening to this remix ever since it came out, and I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned this already, but I kinda like how you can kind of hear a scream around 1:39 because it just? Not sure how to put it into words, but it does show how much Mari's death impacted her and stuff. Makes me very emotional ahh, especially with the piano at the end too!

Absolutely amazing, the slow decent into isolation- you vaguely hear the piano and violin throughout the song, only to be drowned out by the excess chaos.

but unlike Sunny, Aubrey did not come to terms on her own, only until sunny comes along at the middle and end of the song.
(Possibly reminding her about Mari, could explain the piano at the end.)

I feel like this song would be used in a timeline where Aubrey found out that Sunny and Basil were lying and she feels both hatred and confusion towards them. Sunny is trying to defend himself while Basil is just crying and trying to tell Aubrey to calm down (thus the calm piano sections) but to no avail. (Or maybe, depends on what you think)

The original version of It Means Everything felt perfect to me. It felt largely similar to Anxiety from Celeste (which fun fact, this song is also called Anxiety in the game files), with a steady, emotional support section being mixed up with different effects that gradually got more intense.
But this version takes it to another level, it feels almost like this Aubrey fight got turned into something similar to the Omori fight. Due to the rising emotions the church would start to disappear, being filled with hallucinations as the conflict rose and as Aubrey got angrier.

I feel like this captures Aubrey’s grief so well. To me the more distorted parts represent her anger and the violin/piano show that she really lost Mari AND sunny

Every time I listen to this and see Aubrey, I can't help but cry a little bit, thinking of how happy she looks in headspace, which probably mirrored how she was at age 12, and how rebellious and trying to fight to stay alive she feels - completely abandoned by her best friends after the "suicide" of her role model at the age of 16. This game is just so tragic and emotional.

Holy smokes, this really is an emotional rollercoaster in of itself. You can really _feel_ the situation everyone is going through at the time. Stellar job.

I love so much the scretching effect this has (idk if i said that well), it's so good ! Especially when we hear the piano and violon play together

i love the chaotic drop with bitcrush and the square wave lead, also the piano and violins in between really add up to the song. the best remix of this song i have seen so far.

Wow, this goes so hard, I love it! One of the best tracks in Omori, in my humble opinion, so take that, and the fact that whatever you touch seems to turn to gold, and you've got a recipe for a great remix!

Good job busting your ass over college, by the way. Good luck, and keep it up, fellow student! 🤜

First thing I watched this morning. If there’s one thing I can say, it’s that this was flawless, and didn’t diminish the intensity of the situation at all. The piano at the end only made it better. (I also noticed that was eerily similar to the Omori persist remix, coincidence? I think not) The piano at the end seriously made the whole thing for me, it fits so well.
