I love how this had an almost sarcastic vibe to it, but actually it was extremely informative and completely helpful to anyone not already knowing all of this. And even having a couple less known tips or facts to go with it. Like the tape selector, and the battery switching! Excellent info infovideo. Great job!!

Fun Fact
If you want your batteries to last longer switch the tape to the other side and fast forward instead of rewinding as rewinding kills batteries quicker

I'm from the 2000s but I still remember when cars had cassette players in them. My mom had one in her Chevy Prism and my dad had one in his Ford Tempo.

To be honest here, I actually miss these cassette tape player Walkman.
They were like the coldest thing back then, especially for a 13-year-old. Let me see here, if I could remember the five first cassette tapes I bought back then.
Cinderella night songs, iron maiden somewhere in Time, stryper in God we trust,
dokken back for the attack and Ozzy Osbourne no rest for The wicked.
Oh yeah, I cannot forget riding my skateboard while listening to these cassette tapes too. Good times and great memories,
Great video right here and I enjoyed watching

Feeling grateful for my interest in cassette players and older technology because I eventually was able to find one on ebay and it works like a dream.

Did you know you could actually connect a tape player like that to an auxiliary cord to a newer vehicle?

taking the batteries out is such an important thing people overlook. I think the biggest issue I find with used....anything with batteries... is the insane amount of corrosion and acid that forms from sitting in a drawer.

I'm getting my first ever portable cassette player today! I was able to snatch one for $9 via FB marketplace. Now my problem is to get cassettes lol. Thanks for this tutorial and tips!

I had one just like this. I was always playing 80s Metallica on it. I did notice that the tape would start to slow down when the batteries got low. But I could still squeeze a couple hours out of it using the fm tuner.

Amazing, 30 years ago we could not imagine that one can handle a walkman in such a way. We tried all different things but never ended up being so creative as you now in 2019! We tried to let music pass the microwave or played baseball with our portables, but the sound never ended at the opposite

That WM-FX10 is the perfect backup Walkman. Dirt cheap, still pretty easy to find at thrift, and solidly "good enough".

Advanced super user tips: if it's playing too slow and you know the batteries are good, there's a pot switch through a small hole on the back that adjusts the speed. If it won't move at all then the belt is probably bad (it's fairly easy to replace if you can dig up the service manual.) If the fast forward doesn't work correctly then do as I did and ignore the problem; if your experience mirrors mine it'll fix itself with 3-5 months of use. In the meantime flipping the tape and rewinding = fast forward.

I've always wanted a cassette player after my dad told me about them but since I was a tiny child couldn't get one. I knew the basic functions and how it worked cause my grandma had a vhs player at her house that we used to watch cartoons and I read about them In books. Recently I have come to realize I am a full grown adult and can now actually [AFFORD] one. My mom texted me to send my grandma my Christmas list though so ima have her buy it for me and pretend to be surprised. You might be wondering what I'm doing watching this video if I already "know" how it works. Well I just wanted to make sure so I don't have my grandma buy me something that I'll never use and will end up in my closet. ....which it probably will anyways. But at least I'll know how to use it. .... uhh.. .. yeaaaa...
