That solo alone should be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

Im always fascinated by Ritchies vibrato and articulation, he feels the music and play by how he feels. He doesnt overdo vibrato or any other technique.

I bought this CD just because the album cover was so badass. I wasn’t really familiar with Deep Purple outside of Machine Head. However, when I first heard the guitar solo in BURN, I thought “this is way too modern for 1974”, it blew my mind. I’m a drummer, not a guitarist, but to me Blackmore really stands out as a guitarist. Legendary

now that's rock n roll..with the classical influence thrown in! Amazing..Blackmore the riff master and what a lead player.

On a minor note: the image is of him in Rainbow, even though Burn is Deep Purple Mk III.

There is nothing like this solo! so aggresive and beautiful. played it til my fingers bled when I was a kid. Interesting to hear it isolated, it has a completely different feel to it, compared to when you hear the solo with full band. If you should learn one blackmore solo, learn this one it sums up almost everything that is unique with his playing without overdoing anything. Maestro blackmore!!

That lick at :46 is so freaking perfect. I never could figure out exactly what he was doing in the song.

These stems are amazing to listen to, especially after a long childhood of trying to learn all Richies solos and licks from lifting and dropping the needle on vinyl when they first came out. This one has so many of his familiar signatures. Thanks for uploading, yes I subscribed!!!

For me, Ritchie is the best of all time, better than Hendrix, better than Page. He's just got a special style that you can't be taught. It's genius.

who says we need heavy distortion and a humbucker to do bad ass riff?

Thats some sweet Bach progressions all over there... Ritchie is a genious, he managed to blend classical music notions with hard rock perfectly. There will never be another guitar player and composer like him

Very interesting to hear this "out of context" and it still kicks ass!

When God heard him play, He gave up lessons, we will never have anyone like him again.
Blackmore is the absolute master, always searching for notes, may he search for ever.
