Gonna have to get mine going, same vintage as my wife....1953. It's been a part of my life since my Dad purchased it in 1970. I split it in 2000and used it until 2009 when 2nd gear blew a couple of teeth on the drive gear. More efficient than new mowers, I miss it very much.

I, myself have a 1951 International Harvester Cub I inherited from my grandfather on my 16th B-day in 2014 shortly before he passed away with the rare 15"front rims which were special to the "High Clearance" Package All original still has the Woods 42C Rotary mower the Early Skid Plate Shoes & the original tires on it from the Auction it was sold at back in 1987... Getting all new tires soon.

Cubs were simple, fun, and a machine capable of far more than most people know. It's a shame that the cub, A, and B, as well as the later models like the 140' never had a three point hitch available. That option would have increased sale by millions. Frankly, I would rather use one of the older small IH tractors than today's compact tractors. However, finding implements for them today is next to impossible with the exception of belly mowers for cutting lawns.

This guy sees tractors the same way I see them: As objects of industrial art. The tractors of this era were rife with artistic styling . . . modern-day compact tractors, not so much.

I noticed a typo. I thought the Cub was produced from 1947 to 1979.
