Quick video comparing a 1949 IH Farmall Cub to a 1955 Cub Lo-Boy. In the video I said the Cub was a 1953 but I remembered later that it is actually a 1949. International Harvester first released the Cub in 1947 and the most notable feature of the little tractor is its offset engine and steering, IH called this feature "Cultivision". This feature gave the operator greater visibility of his rows. The Cub and Cub Lo-Boy went through a few cosmetic changes over the years but stayed the same mechanically. Three major series of the Cub were built. The Farmall Cub until 1964, the International Cub until 1975 and the new International Cub until the end of production in 1979. All of the Cubs feature the popular International Harvester 59.5 cid C60 4 cylinder flathead gasoline engine. The Cubs and their Cub Lo-Boy counterpart were manufactured at the IH Louisville, Kentucky plant which is the same plant where starting in 1961 the Cub Cadet original would be manufactured.

Great looking tractor. Had a cub way back with belly mower to cut grass. It didnt like being here living in our sea of green tractors 😊🤣

Interesting trivia bit about tRaymond Loewy. I am a long time Studebaker fan so I am familiar with his work there, but never knew about him designing the IH logo. Do you know the reason for the offset design of these tractors? Thanks, Bill
