Good video Lazarus…. We learned a very long time ago to run our tanks hot…. Due to the water in our area we are very susceptible to it so we titrate all our fish up and keep them that way all the time…. Therefore we simply never get it ever…. It really does work well😀😀👍👍

Does the higher temperature affect the fish; i had ick on a pleco and went away on its own with the temperature rise up to 29 degrees. But now i gave the same issue again and trying for 2 days to manage it with temperature raising. Fingers crossed

I dealt with Ich once and it was terrible. My tip on garlic is to boil some crushed up garlic and drop some of the garlic juice on the fish food before feeding. They seem to have no problems eating the fish food, plus my room didn’t smell like garlic 🙂

Nice overview, glad it worked for you. I have been trying to get rid of ick without medication for over a month. Tried temp increase + garlic + food for immune system support that contains garlic. The ick would go away, I would keep the temperature up for a week, but as soon as I would lower the temperature down, the ick would come back. I have tried medication the first time and it killed my fish. Later, I have been successful with treating ick with lower dose of medication and have also uploaded some videos of the process. Usually scaleless fish are the ones that die, guppies, swordtails, etc tend to be just fine with meds or temperature increase. I think the best thing to do is to leave scaleless fish, shrimp, plants, etc and move hardy fish to a different aquarium and treat them separately. Also, I moved fish to a smaller fish tank when I did the treatment to use less medication.

Great video. I have cichlids and plecos so i cant do the medication. Im not sure 30 degrees will be too much for cichlids. Might try the aquarium salt. Any other recommendations

I’m going to try to get it off my fish, I’ve lost five fish because I thought they were sick. If this works than I’ll know it’s these parasites.

But what do I do with my gravel? Do I get rid of it completely?

Can you use ich medication and aquarium salt at the same time?

ICK usually lives in the gravel, so I have an undergravel filter and a hangover filter joint together, when I do water change every week I take my hangover filter out from the tank before anything, then clean the filter and drain the water from the hangover filter and after putting everything back, fill it with your fishtank water, then put garlic powder in the hangover filter, that way the water that comes from under the gravel will go to the garlic first then it gets filter to the fishtank.

Salt DOES NOT CURE ICH. It just helps the fish’s slime coat!

I'm doing the first method even though I have live plants. I can get more but I wanna save these fish.
