Lol I love it. I accidentally did the same thing to the one under the shed before Dr Tully’s lab. I couldn’t believe it. I just wanted to get to a spot to shoot her that she couldn’t get me. She leaped, landed on a root above me, and it took me about 20
seconds to find where she went and that she was already dead.

ik it's fall damage and in this case it looks like the widow is jumping way up and then landing to take damage, but I swear I've seen bugs die like this without seeming to actually fall very far. Does being directly above the player (with no viable pathing to reach them, I assume) cause this to happen?

This happened to me on my first black widow fight it was really anticlimactic

Had the same thing happen with the infected wolf spider. Just jumped up came down too hard and instantly died

This explains what I was seeing with the Infected Wolf Spider when hiding in the entrance to the Oak Lab. It jumped on the leaf above it and just.. died.

I accidentally killed my first Widow same way. Widow is just insane with level 6 Poly Rolly armor and lvl 7 mighty rusty spear still. I rather cheese more because venom drops are not guaranteed. I get they wanted to make that boss fight hard but the venom damage is OP still even with poison tier 3 mutation.

Easiest way to farm bw parts lol, she just dies by fall damage, this also works for infected wolf spider too, try luring it onto a surface and make them jump. The upper grasslands are the easiest place to do it
