I felt bad for David having to put up with Leno in this interview.
Had one of the greatest and most original filmmakers of his generation on his couch and just makes fun of him the entire time. 🙄

My interpretation is that until you ‘grow up’ (whatever that means to you - ‘coming of age’, they refer to it sometimes…) you really only know what’s going on in your own ‘home’ with your ‘family’ and whatever that consists of …..then you realize the truth of life and it’s struggles and how YOU PERSONALLY are going to FIT INTO THIS WORLD!
He happened to be an artistic genius and that’s the road he chose and the way he expresses himself.

An original thought as in actually thinking for one's self, untethered from the way the world's society brainwashed + molded our minds into thinking. He's actually telling his truth and I believe many more people in this world experience it (at certain points in their lives).
