Beacon Falls Police Chief Misses Opportunity To Save Taxpayers Money
Показать описание
Recently, a full-time Beacon Falls Police officer, Caroline O’Bar retired. Chief of Police and First Selectman Chris Bielik wants to fill the position with a full-time officer, and yes that includes costly benefits and retirement. Here is a wonderful opportunity for Bielik to replace the fulltime position with two part-time positions to avoid costly benefits.
By having a police force staffed with part-time police officers, it would be in line with other communities who participate in the Resident State Trooper program.
Public safety is a very important measure for any municipality. With Beacon Falls using the Resident State Tropper Program, employing part-time officers makes sense in the long run if the town continues to contract with the State Police.
Face it, as of 2/2019, The state will soon be increasing the cost of living and Beacon Falls has no roads repair program, trash pickup costs are on the rise, sewage treatment plant needs to be upgraded, among many other projects. Who is going to pay for this? You, the taxpayer of course.
Let’s see how Chief Bielik wants to spend your money.
