A Fresh Take on Knack

A look at the PS4 platformer from someone who just played it for the first time.

For someone who played Crash Bandicoot, Spyro and Jak and Daxter, this game isn't really bad. The only bad part of the game is the story. I wish it was more balanced and characters are developed.

1: Knack was created to be the Crash Bandicoot for young children. Their first game just like Sypro and Crash were to us. It's family friendly, however, when put on hard it's FUCKING HARD. Platformers like this aren't just made anymore. The majority of platformers now are 2D and not so action based with a narrative worth noting behind them.

2: Obviously the game-play allows for a variety of playing styles like he stated. It's a mixture of classic games, so... in the end it's cool.

I don't see this as a family game. Sure it is family friendly, but I feel like it's one of those kinda games which anyone of all ages can enjoy playing and love the game.

Now apparently all the sudden Knack is what gaming's all about, classic PS1/ N64 era gaming has finally returned. Thank god for Knack.

That ice caves clip where an enemy rolls a giant snowball down a slope at Knack... Holy crap I was suddenly struck with a blindingly intense Spyro/Crash PSone nostalgia.

To me Crash Bandicoot was what represented my childhood. I loved playing crash. And I do believe Knack will be my game that goes with my playsation4.

I've never seen gameplay of this before, and as he said, it might be refreshing to go back to something like Crash Bandicoot or Ratchet and Clank that I used to play as kid.

it's what i loved about the old Doom and Wolfenstein games, and it's one of the ways i new i was going in the right direction when i stopped seeing dead bodies on the ground lol.

I'd definitely play this. Family friendly, challenging, and great graphics. Wouldn't pay $60 it though. Cerny himself said this was just a small project to work on while developing the PS4. It was meant to be a juggernaut of a game.

It's a completely fresh new game, I might pick it up, it a nice change of pace from playing battlefield all day.

When i get my PS4 this will def be my number 2 game without a doubt! its new refreshing and looks like fun for kids and even adults! its something i really would love to play.

This game looks to me like a Ratchet and Clank, Jak, and Sly Cooper type game, the games I loved playing on PS2, will definitely be buying this in the future if reviews turn out good.

I love that they are still making these kind of games, but i would like to see them bring back Crash Bandicoot, Spyro and Ape Escape<3

I agree. But I think there's quite a large chance this game will end up the instant game collection for PS+ members so I'll just wait it out :)

Lol I didn't know Nintendo fanboys existed after wii u but nobody said knack was trying to beat Mario and I didn't know Nintendo was the only company allowed to make platformers. Chill out kid their just games.
