Prepare for labor by learning Station vs Dilation

Показать описание
Station (OVER) Dilation
You’ll hear me say this over and over again…#dilation is not that important during labor.
If you MUST get cervical exams and know any information, the station of your #baby is more important. This is how high or low your baby is in relation to the #pelvis. It tells us the most effective ways to move our bodies to help our baby based on where they are located. Dilation, on the other hand, doesn’t do that.
The station of baby goes from -2 to +2 when we are in labor. The negative stations mean baby is floating above the pelvis, zero station means baby is engaged in the mid pelvis (middle) and positive station means baby is lower in the pelvis and beginning to make their way earthside. You’ll know baby is descending based on how your body moves and the pressure you feel.
For example, you could be 7cm but your baby could be at a -2 station. What you should be doing with your body might be different than what is being suggested since technically you’re in early labor.
So, how do you know what station your baby is in without getting checked?
Well, your body will tell us by your natural body movements where baby is. I go through this in detail in my Werk Your Birth course launching in two weeks! Join the waitlist (link in my bio).
Save this and practice these movements before going into labor.
