I use solar lights for every room, bathroom with movement detector, so goes on when I enter goes off when I leave, have a three part solar light for the living room, bright enough for the whole room, and has a remote control. Have one that is permanently connected to the solar panel, so is always fully charged, for the kitchen, and a low light solar light for the bedroom, also with a movement detector that lasts a long time. Using them, rather than the light switches, saves about 15% on my electric bill. It will save more in the dark mornings and late afternoons of winter, I would hope 20%.

Ma’am you don’t need to eat crab cakes upside down just to be sustainable. Grow up.

So in short, if you are spending $120 per month raising the temperature inside your home to an uncomfortable 80 or higher degrees will save you $12 a month.

That doesn't sound like worthwhile advice to me.
