Should Splatoon 4 Have Male News Idols?

If in splatoon 4 we get 4 idols, it would be interesting if we get back 2 splatfest teams, and each splatfest the 4 idols get into duos against eachother, (if that makes sence) that would make funny dynamics

Are we forgetting Big Man??? Is Big Man not idol enough for you?! 😢 (Joking, but yeah it would be pretty cool to see more Male presences in the future game. Especially Male Inkling and Octoling ones at that as there really just aren’t any other than Octavio and Cuttlefis. I also share your opinion with the whole experience towards Big Man’s presence and preferring the Female idols because of how new it is to have a male one like Big Man himself.)

Maybe they could do 2 male idols and 2 female idols working for 2 different news stations etc and be like rivals or something.

I think they should make the splatoon 4 idols a boy band.

Hear me out; although plenty of people would prefer for splatoon to continue having female idols, having more male idols would greatly help with the character diversity in the game, and would help keep the other female characters that they add from becoming more bland and boring. Also, having a band with (at least primarily) male members could result in some interesting music tracks and remixes, as their voices would be different from the female singers that we've gotten so far.

I also think that they should go with four idols instead of the usual two or three, which would make the idols seem more like a band. This would be acceptable, as the next installment will be the fourth, plus, they could use this to bring in a new character type. They could follow the same formula that they did with splatoon 3, being an inkling, an octoling, and a non-human character, but the fourth member could be a new character type who hides what he actually is, but he ends up revealing his species in the dlc along with adding the ability to choose that character type. I suppose they could theoretically make the idols a mix of male and female characters, but since the idols have almost all been female so far, I think having a male group could be more interesting for the first male human idols.

I want a male idol but not multiple. One is enough and I think they could make kind of a brother sister relationship. Maybe a protective brother who's worried about his lil sis! that would be fun to see

My one issue is that the female inklings/ octolings just look so much better than the male models. They’re just cooler, and they’d have to work a lot harder to make male idols viable

2:36 As a girl I think it's cool that Splatoon has a 'female first' design philosophy. It works pretty well.

Leaving out fanfiction and stuff - the reason I would love to see Male idols is because it's a commen thing in our world to have boy bands or boy groups. My sister loves K pop - and that culture would be cool to see in the Splatoon world. I think K pop fits because the idol were based of Japan's idol culture.

The girls are always cute or cool.

And I'd love to see the guy's turn.

we kinda need important characters as well! like a rogue inkling/octoling boy who'd have deep hate towards idols and heroes as he'd wound them deeply like hurt or punch them since we never had any actual pain action. he'd be your new friend but he won't be there with you unless it's emergency. like protoman/shadow/meta knight. he'd show strong powers and incredible speed.
plus something is on par with finn the human or tough pokemon trainers who'd show full determination to beat you down.


i won't count acht since she's not much of a big deal and she's a lazy one.

If you ask me, I would like a whole 4 members band of a style we haven't seen yet (like metal, jazz, disco or whatever) with at least 2 male members, Why? Because Splatoon 3 absolutely disappointed me with Shiver and Frye being basically a combination of the prior idols
