Thank you, this is a great video. Well articulated and your points well discussed. I am based in Australia. I am well settled here as a Nigerian Australian. A lot of time I think about this topic. Honestly, all the factors you have discussed will determine where I will retire when I grow old. Although, I am still far from retirement. What I am doing now is to work and save towards retirement. I am also making additional voluntary contributions towards my pension. I am making good decisions now for my future e.g pay off my mortgage, building my own businesses especially remote professional job towards my old age, increasing my earning capability through additional studies etc. Also, I will not wait till I am old before I travel the world. The mistake many people have made in diaspora is to keep postponing having fun, travelling and enjoying the work of their labour. Hustling never ends in the West. While it is good to save and plan for retirement, it is also good to enjoy today. There must be a balance. Thank you. Great topic! Great video! Cheers

For Nigerians in diaspora, take the issue of having money saved or invested for old age seriously. Good to be generous but don’t eat your seed. If you plan to retire in Nigeria, ensure you have a home here to retire to. Revive your network through your alumni or family or religious group. Plan towards this and don’t leave it to chances. Currency devaluation could destroy your retirement savings, so invest part of your savings in stable economies where the return can come in handy in old age. Best of luck.

That second major factor, what kind of lifestyle!
For me i will love to retire where my extended family is like that doc who went back to Nigeria from abroad. My retirement is time to give back to my village community by Gods grace.

This is comprehensive indeed. There is also the need to consider the implications of non-residency. Old age security payment may be wiped off by changing one's residency to a different country, CPP is not as affected. Of course one could still maintain residency by having an investment in Canada but where your treasure is that is where your heart stays 😅

As a matter facts, I do tell people they are three major continent in the world that's really cool to live, and even retirement. 1. Africa, Asia, and South America.

the cheapest place to retire is to go back to your village. Avoid big cities such as abidjan, lagos, dakar, johannesburg etc...
