Yesterday morning, Russian information channels reported that drones had attacked the Mozdok airfield in North Ossetia (North Caucasus). Later, the attack was claimed by Ukrainian military intelligence (GUR), releasing a statement in the media through an anonymous source.

All aircraft with stealth coating are kept indoors in a hanger. The fact they kept that thing outside tells us that it definitly isnt stealth coated.

Also, the fact that the Su-57 was still parked on the apron where it was struck by the drone tells you that the Russian command didn't feel it was worth moving/it was unable to move. They would have patched it up and flown it somewhere else if they could have, like the rest of the airplanes that were parked there.

Artur, you have to remember that most missile launching air defense systems have filters on their radars that tune out slow flying objects. The reason behind this is that without that, they'd be tracking every bird and local civilian aviator that happened to be flying in their direction. Ukraine is taking advantage of this. There was a huge discussion about this back when the UA Bayraktar drones did so well and then started getting shot out of the sky. They shut down that filter along the border.

Given that these Russian air bases are a long way from the border with Ukraine, there are likely many small civilian aircraft in the area every day. I think it is fantastic that Ukraine is taking advantage of this weakness.
